Question about Protron PD-800 DVD Player
Hi! I have purchased the DVD for my father about 1 1/2years ago. The player is only used once every 2-3 months. The player slows down during movies (like a pause). We though it needed cleaning so we purchased to good dvd cleaner...that didn't work. We purchased the player at Skopko with extended warranty through them. They report that we need to contact the manufacture for a return to refund. I do have the warranty information & Shopko receipt if needed. Please assist.
Thanks so much,

I am just someone answering this question. I have nothing to do with warranties or any manfufacture in any way.
You have to follow the policy of the dealer and manufacture for warranty service, if the unit is still under warranty.
Outside of warrany, this unit would not be worth to service it. Even if you paid a tech to determine the cause and he needs parts, the manufacture does not sell the parts or any service manuals, or any service information.
When these types of units are returned to the contracted service rep, they re-build these using parts from other returns, or use new generic type components when possible. What you will get back is another re-buillt unit, or you may get back the same case with a re-built system inside.
This type of player is a very low end and low cost player. In the end, it may be more worth for you just to buy a new one. These are technicaly designed as "throw-aways" when they go defective and are out of warranty.
If you want something very good, you can go with a known brand name and pay the premium price for it.
