Question about Televison & Video
I have checked for a power supply for our 32" Protron LCD TV and saw a reference on your site for LCDPayless to purchase. I contacted them and they came back with a quote of $129.00. Assuning at this point that there must be an ounce of gold in the power supply they are selling, I have looked for other sources. After all, they can't be the only supplier, or can they?

The price that they are offering you, it is probably for a rebuilt. They are more expensive if you go to the original manufacture and order a new one. That is if any new ones are still available.
If the power supply is blown, considering the age of the set there is a good chance that there may be faults in other areas. Sometimes there are components that are off value in other circuits, and thus causing higher current draw from the supply.
After changing the supply, you must make tests to know if everything is okay. We also do temperature tests on the heatsinks of the power drive components in the supply, and on the heatsinks of the power devices on the other boards before determining that the set is okay.
