The refrigerator has a duel water valve, one for the ice-maker and one for the water dispenser. the valve that the ice-maker relies on may be bad, or it could be the ice-maker itself.
another thing that could cause it would be the temperatures in the freezer. the ice-maker will not call for water until it reaches under 15 degrees. also check the water tube behind the ice-maker to make sure it is not frozen, blocking more water from entering.

Kitchenaide superba icemaker won't shut off when full

Is this one that has an ice bucket that sets on the freezer door. If so it has an electronic eye that senses if the ice has accumulated enough to be stopped. This eye assembly may need replacing. It is just inside the freezer door and both sides come in a kit.

How to install/replace Icemaker in top bottom fridge

Start by unplugging fridge. Take 1/4 inch nut drive ( sometimes phillips ) remove bottom screw from under ice maker. Next loosen top to screws mostly out. The screws are located in brackets near the ice tray behind the front cover. Ice maker has brakets that the top screws slide into. Lift the icemaker up and out off the screws. Next disconnect the quick connect that is on the back wall of the freezer. Some models are hard wired into the icebox. If this is like yours than disconnect the quick connect from the icemaker itself. Take icemaker out of freezer and connect quick connect into or from new ice maker. Slide the new icemaker onto screws and into place. Screw bottom screw in and than tighten the top two screws. Place ice maker arm down so it can make ice. Give it 24 hours to cycle before it starts producing ice. Most of the time icemaker starts making ice within a couple hours. Plug in fridge.

Icemaker is slow in producing ice

If your icemaker is producing ice, but it is slow, there are 2 likely explanations.
1. Temperature. Water freezes at 32 deg, but the icemaker won't eject the ice until it gets below 10 degrees. If you always had good ice output and all of a sudden it has slowed down, you're temperature is a little higher than ideal. Check for a door seal not making good contact or try dropping the temp in the FREEZER side a couple degrees
2. New model. Most new refrigerators make ice much slower than older models to meet energy efficiency guidelines. This is not a repairable issue.

its the ice maker .water or condensation has built up in the ice maker modual and refroze upon turning unit back on.either get a new ice maker or uninstall the ice maker and let it dry for a few days and reinstall.but it could happen again that way.or maybe not.

ICE MAKER QUIT MAKING ICE ON MY WHIRLPOOL FRIDGE

I had a Whirlpool Model GD5SHAXNS in which the icemaker quit working about the same time (3 years old). I had water out the dispenser, I found that it was the icemaker itself failed not calling for water to fill it. I replaced it with a icemaker on-line for about $100 and problem fixed. I have been told his is a common problem with the icemaker in this model ref.

Icemaker

Do you hear it trying to draw water into the ice tray? If so, there might be an internal problem you can't fix yourself. especially since the fridge is dispencing water. Is the arm inside the ice maker pushe down? This is what tells the ice maker to fill and make the ice.

Let me know if this helps.
