Where can i get a free download of microsoft word, excel and powerpoint?

You cannot get these programs for free. You can get Powerpoint Viewer for free but not Powerpoint that you can use in any way other than to view presentations. However there is Open Office which is free alternative to Microsoft Office. http://download.cnet.com/OpenOffice-org/3000-18483_4-10263109.html There is also LibreOffice which is also free. http://www.libreoffice.org/

Microsoft power point slideshow wont open

Hello,

Your problem is either with your microsoft office installation, microsoft powerpoint installation or the powerpoint slideshow you are trying to open is damaged (or contains macros/virus etc) and thats why is taking long to open or doesn't open at all.

Recommendation #1: Do a repair install of the microsoft office you have now ( 2003 or 2007) You have to go to Control Panel-> Programs and Features-> select MS Office Proffesional 2003 or 2007 and click "repair" on the top bar of th Programs and Features toolbar.

Recommendation #2: In case the powerpoint slideshow is broken, see This link or This for more specific instructions.

What is ms office

Microsoft Office is a non-free commercial office suite of inter-related desktop applications, servers and services for the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems, introduced by Microsoft in 1989. Initially a marketing term for a bundled set of applications, the first version of Office contained Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Over the years, Office applications have grown substantially closer with shared features such as a common spell checker, OLE data integration and Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications scripting language. Microsoft also positions Office as a development platform for line-of-business software under the Office Business Applications brand. According to Forrester Research, as of June 2009, some version of Microsoft Office is used in 80% of enterprises, with 64% of enterprises using Office 2007.[1]

I wan't to open power point

First off, you need to have a copy of PowerPoint Installed.
If you do, then in most cases you can click Start / All Programs / Microsoft Office / and click Power Point.

If you don't have powerpoint you can get the free powerpoint viewer to VIEW the slideshows without having powerpoint installed.

If you need to open a powerpoint slideshow and don't own microsoft office you will have to purchase a copy from almost any computer store.

If you have to make a slide show and don't have Microsoft Office you can always use the FREE OpenOffice software that can open most MS Office documents and has all the same features as MS Office.

Hello There, I found this in their FAQ Guide. Hope this resolves your problems, I know it is a bit of a read. Good Luck!!

What is happening?

Double-clicking on a backup, portable company file, or a file with an extension other than .qbw, the following error occurs:
An error occurred when QuickBooks tried to create, open, or use the company file. Please try again. If the problem persists, contact Intuit Technical Support and provide them with the following error codes: (-6150,-1006).
Or, if you attempt to double-click the data file without QuickBooks open, the following error occurs:
There was an unexpected error reported while trying to run QuickBooks with company file "path location". Error code 80070057.
Note: More than one error message that includes the error code 80070057 exists. If this is not the exact wording of your error message please refer to one of these other documents:
Error: 80070057 parameter is incorrect" when clicking on a QBB, QBM, QBW, NT, or TLG file from a Google Search Timeline
Error: 80070057 parameter is incorrect" when clicking on a QBB, QBM, NT, or TLG file from a Google Search Timeline
Error: 80070057, the parameter is incorrect. There was an unexpected error reported while trying to run QuickBooks with company file [path and name]
Error: 80070057 the parameter is incorrect" and "You do not have sufficient permissions to delete files...
If your Error 80070057 is different than the ones displayed, perform a new Search.

Why is this happening:
QuickBooks cannot read the company file because the QuickBooks file extension was changed or is the wrong type (.qbm, .qbb, .qbx).
This error can also occur during conversion or creation of a backup or portable company file if QuickBooks detects data damage in the company file.
This error may possibly occur if the QuickBooks installation is damaged.
This error can also be caused by attempting to open the portable company file (.qbm) without having QuickBooks open.

How to fix the problem:
Verify that the file extension displays company name.qbw and not a shortcut.
Copy the company file, change the extension to .qbm, .qbb, or .qbx, and follow the appropriate steps to open a portable file, backup, or accountant's review.
If the error occurs during the conversion or creation of a backup or portable company file, run the Verify utility to check the file for data damage. If it finds damage, run the Rebuild utility.
Repair the QuickBooks installation.
Uninstall, and then reinstall QuickBooks.
