Most of these products come with a one year warranty from the date of purchase. For many of models, it is possible to buy an exteneded warranty at the time of purchase.

You should contact the dealer where you bought your player to find out if it is under warranty or not. Your dealer can send it in for warranty service, or give you the instructions of where to send it if he does not do this type of service.

If you have to pay the labour and parts to service these players, usualy it is not cost effective to service them.

WHY MY PORTABLE DVD WON'T PLAY

It won't play for one of two reasons:
1. There is something inside the DVD player, which keeps it from playing.
2. The DVD player's battery has run out of juice and can no longer play, meaning the player needs to be replaced.

I have just bought a technika 3 in 1 tv but it won't **** the DVD in on DVD mode

if it is brand new take it back for exchange or repair---has to have a warranty if bought new.

Usually when a player will not play the disc it is a bad optical unit inside the set---not economical to repair since only the complete DVD portion is usually available.

My cousin bought a Phillips Portable DVD player for my kids. He bought it in America and in South Africa we have a different region code, can I change the region code

Question Can I change the region code on my player so that I can play DVD / Blu-ray disc from other regions? Answer South Africa is region B for Blu-Ray DVD and Region 5 for DVD and finding the procedure will be difficult as international copyright legislation prohibits manufacturers from providing instructions for changing the region code.

Phillips portable dvd player will not play dvds. Phillips dvd player is still under warranty.

Your best bet is to contact the manufacturer or shop you bought the item, as it is still under garantee they should be able to repair or issue a replacment for the faulty one, it is pointless trying to get it repaired if the item is under warranty as opening it up or getting an idependant repair done on the item will void any warranty. hope this helps.

My lg dvd writer is not detecting dvd but it is detecting cd...

Hello,

the laser (lens) of the Rom is very weak, that's why it cannot read DVD discs. DVD discs are usually larger that CD's and it takes an active lens to play DVD disc.

So if its still under warranty, you can return it, if not, get a lens cleaner and use it to clean the lens of your ROM.

Good luck.

Philips Portable DVD player

the problem is with the iTunes software. The old versions of the software worked in the portable DVD player but the new versions of the software disable the feature so if possible the only solution I know if is to revert back to older version of the software. That may not be possible for you though. I have been told it is because Apple wants to continue to monopolize and force people to buy there Apple cords and apple specific products.

I am hoping that a future version of the software corrects this error but until then I have chosen to disable the software update feature so that I can play movies on my iPod through my Portable DVD player
