Question about Televison & Video
My new emerson lcd tv did not include instructions for wall mounting. The tech rep says, it cannot be wall mounted. The back side of the television has four screw holes that i could use to wall mount.
My question is, can I wall mount the Emerson LC320EM9 television safely and without damaging the unit?
I don't know the model in particular, but most of these sets can be wall mounted if you have the screw holes for the mounting plate in the back of the set.
What I believe the tech was telling you would be that it is best to not wall mount the set. The reason is that we found that we have been seeing a higher failure rate from sets being wall mounted. This is because the surface of the wall reflects some heat back in the set, and thus causes it to internaly run warmer. This is also the same from running a set inside of a cabinet. The complete surface area behind the set being very close to the wall surface blocks cooler air circulation. It is best to run these sets on a stand that is out in the opened at least 1 foot away from any wall surface.
