My 4pr909 headset wont connect to my phone

not enough information here ot asertain the complete problem for resolution.
Please provide info for the headset connection and phone.
if the headset connect is to large it will not fit to the phone. If the headset has broken wires in the insulation it will not yield sound. Ground and left and rigtht signal from the phone must have a complete circuit in order to completer the sound transfer to the headset. Also if there is a mute function on the headset sound will not transfer.

Sound

the potential cause for this is that if you load up IE or FF with the headset plugged in, IE/FF will load up the sound via the USB, but if you remove the headset, IE/FF is still trying to relay your sound though the USB and not the speakers. This is not a design flaw with the headset but rather with windows. This happens to me with every program that uses sound. And also to note that even though you plug the headset back in, it has a good chance of loading onto a different address then what was used by IE/FF initially. You can see how this works also by leaving your headset plugged in, with IE or FF open (so that the sound is through the headset) then go into your control panel > sound options, and under the playback tab select your speakers rather then the headset. you will see that you lose your sound until you restart IE/FF.

No sound from my Logitech headset when on SKYPE

Maybe you need to select which Audio device you are using within Skype. It the Settings under Audio you should be able to select the default audio device that Skype talks to. If you set it to the USB headset, it might work properly.
