You will have to remove the bottom cover and pull out the lower hinge pin.

I received other information which I will post. The original answer was also from a Nikon parts vendor. Now I am unsure if you can actually replace it yourself or not.

This is a response from another repair/replacement parts vendor:

Nikon no longer sells complete film doors. We recommend sending the
camera to have the film door replaced because parts from the old film
door have to be transferred to the new one. The cost is $68, including
    return shipping.

How do i advance the film in my Nikon N65

Hello Anonymous,
With each shot this camera auto advances the film. Maybe, when the film door is closed the film is not seated properly all to the right side. Thus the take up reel is not pulling the film.

Being as the N65 appeared in 2000, it is possible it may be stoved-up. Also, if so these are not worth fixing. For the cost of fixing I would look for a N80; a very nice camera much improved over the N65.

I have a 36 shot film and it stops at 26 shots , need help

At first glance it seems your camera may need repair. First thing I would do is clean the contacts that read the cartage. Put in a cartridge that you can afford to play with. Put the lens cap on keeping light from exposing the film, fire off the frames until it stops. If it still stops at 24-26 rewind the film (hope you have a film puller). Open the camera back fire off some shots then replace the film trying it again. If that does not work the counter is in need of repair.

However, I would not repair it I would purchase another film camera such as the Nikon N80 and if you can afford it the F100. Both are much superior to the N65. You can find N80 at for less than $100, As of today, 2013-10-17, I see one in E+ condition for $76, a N65 for $14.

Nikon N65 Won't Turn On , With NEW Batteries . This Camera Is NEW ! Please Help ''/

Nikon hasn't manufactured the N65 is several years now, so if you bought it it was either misrepresented as new, or possible new-old-stock (a never sold/used item, that's been sitting on the shelf for a number of years). I'd be willing to venture you probably ran into a disreputable seller.

Either way, open the battery compartment and look for corrosion in the compartment. If that's present clean it off with the eraser of a pencil and try again. If that doesn't work, contact Nikon service with the warranty information in your package. If it's a new item, it'll still be warrantied since the warranty won't begin until it's sold to a consumer.

If, however you find that the camera was sold 10 years ago and no longer under warranty, you'll probably want to either find a local reputable shop, buy another camera if yours turns out to be too expensive to repair (impossible to tell until someone looks at it to determine the issue), or if you don't have a local shop I'd recommend KEH Camera in Atlanta, GA for mail-order/internet dealers. They've been in business many years and are very reputable.

I bought new batteries for my N65 and my camera keeps blinking ERR.

The manual mentions only 2 conditions where the Err message appears. First if it is Err + E at the same time, the film has not completely wound and needs to be reloaded.

If it is Err alone, the manual states to fire the shutter and see if the message remains. If it does, to contact a Nikon Authorized Service Rep.

Basically, you insert batteries, load film, attach a lens, point the camera, and press the shutter release button :-)

Nikon N65 won't take picture

The problem is, that you have a lens witch has an aparture ring on it and some exposure modes needs it to be fixed on the smallest aparture (e. f22). When its done the camera should not say fEE no longer.

If you are looking for a manual or just a camera manual in general check the public library photographic section to learn more about film cameras, you may find a N65 book
