Originally Answered: What does it mean when your TV has a black screen but is still producing sound? Unplug the power to the external device for 30 seconds. Disconnect the HDMI cable from the TV and move it to an alternate port. Plug the device back in, and power the device back on.

I have a Wesington Plasma It is doing the same thing ??? It turns on sound picture and all then a second later black screen but all sound and stuff in tact?
DLP Projection tv, Models WD-57731, The tv powers on but the screen remains black, the audio comes on but after approximately 30-40 seconds,the audio starts to skip and then the entire tv system shuts down. I reset it a few times but that doesn't change the problem
