2004 Ford Explorer When turning the temperature knob from cold to hot it start making a clicking noise. the fan works but only cold air comes out

    But what makes the clicking noise a friend said it may be the air blend door actuator

Hello auntdae.... when the fan works and cold air comes out begin by checking the thermostat. Chances are that the thermostat is stuck and not allowing any hot water from the engine to heat the interior of the vehicle.

The good news is this is an inexpensive fix, the part is usually in the $5.00 range. If you are somewhat handy, you can change it yourself. It requires removing two bolts, scraping off the old gasket and then installing a new gasket and thermostat. Joe

wow ok it may be me but i am not seeing awnsers to alot of these that clicking is more than likley a fuse relay is it comming from the driver side or passanger there is probabley a fuse box where you hear it does it cold when it is on? if not find and replace the relay

Sounds like your temperature actuator is not moving or your temp door is broken. On max a-c ,coolant is shut off to your heater core allowing only cold air in.
