Question about Buffalo Technology AirStation G54 WHR-HP-G54 Wireless Router (DHWHRHPG54)

1 Answer

Motherboard Schematic Help! I blew up the momboard in my router. It appears to be the diode next to the power socket (Yeah, I know that sounds crazy). Does anyone know what the value of that diode is? Is there a fuse on the momboard? Could someone send me a schematic? Thanks.

You may not be able to get a schematic. You need to be able to troubleshoot electronics without a schematic. Check where the AC cord connects to the circuit board. In general there should be a fuse and a transient suppressor. Next will be the transformer if there is one or rectifier diodes. These usually fail in a lightning strike. There is also the probability of other component failures, but you won'y know that until you repair these components.

depending on the location of the diode in your charger just try replacing it with a ginaric type diode of the same size, but be forewarned that the diode blew up for a reason and you must first find the cause before you replace it for it will blow again and possibly cause more destruction, is it worth it to you to repair or just bye a new one ?

Does anyone know where to get the schematic for the dv6550us motherboard?

The closest I come to an HP Pavilion dv6550us, on HP Support, or on the internet is;

Pavilion dv6550tx
Next inline is Pavilion dv6560us,
then Pavilion dv6450us

Not available to the public.

Do have a Block Diagram,

Both use the Fairchild Semiconductor Industries - FDS6679 - Power MOSFET, and Alpha & Omega Semiconductor LTD - AO4407 - Power MOSFET, in the DC - DC circuit; as far as I know.

Both are Obsolete, but there are cross match examples out there.
(FDS6679AZ for FDS6679, for one)

Indicates HP Pavilion dv9000 series, and AMD; but also matches up to the Pavilion dv6500 series,

Asking for a Schematic, do I assume you are attempting
Board Level Component replacement?

What SMD/SMT IC component are you trying to replace?
(Surface Mount Device/Surface Mount Technology. Integrated Circuit)

Motherboard chipset info, and processor socket info, for processor upgrade.
Same thing for Ram Memory upgrade.
It does use DDR2 Sdram (SO-DIMM), and at 667MegaHertz, to my knowledge.

What usually goes bad on the HP Pavilion dv2000 series, Pavilion dv6000 series, and Pavilion dv9000 series of Notebook PC's?

The cooling for the graphics chipset is inadequate, therefore the graphics chipset overheats, and partially melts the Solder Joints in the BGA surface mount.

Resulting in no graphics.

Power MOSFET's in DC - DC circuit go bad.

Is there a fuse inside superstar 360

  • Hi, I can help.

  • No fuses in the literal sense. There are two capacitors and a diode to check. all are available at Radio Shack as labeled on the schematic. The schematic is a cut away of the board where the power cord is inserted into the radio.

  • If any of them blew it will interrupt your circuit.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • hope this helps and thank you for suing FixYa.

I have a laptop motherboard (da0at3mb8f0) which will not power on. I see a small charred area on the motherboard right on the power input circuit. I want to replace these diodes/resistors but I cant tell...

Even if you would find the parts, it's impossible to repair it - the multilayer board on which they are soldered is shorted and that cannot be fixed.

As soon as i turn my amp on it starts getting extremelly hot and there is a hum comming from the speaker but no sound from plugged in instruments. I think a diode or resistor went bad. Can anybody help me....

yeah its cooking. there should be four diodes grouped together on the power supply 1n4003 or something like that. maybe the fatter electrolytics are going bad too. you can order parts from mouser.com the diodes are 6 cents each and the caps are under a buck each. if you cant find the extact match for the caps get the next voltage rating higher, dont go lower in voltage

Burnt out 3 diodes..what are they?

look man that molex connector is providing the mass of the power that board uses w/o that i would think it'd be hard to fry anything unless the board was already screwed :( i think replacing them only to watch it happen again would be no fun :(

pine,

It sounds like you have a short somewhere in the motherboard and should have it replaced. The website for this product can be found here.

Also, I found a technical guide for you which may help.
