Question about Vestax PDX-2000MKII PRO Turntable
I turned the power on and it turned on for a second then shut off .i replaced internal 500 mil-amp fuse and when i tried to turn it on it blew the fuse. i then tried another fuse and it blew that one too.
You see it often with guys which , when scratching , put the pitch often at full load and pressing the platter too hard. the capacitors ain't in a great shape after all those years and then the chance that the transformer gives up , is good possible. My technics mk-5 has a 60.000 uF buffer, which is ok since I also listen a lot vinyl and the noisy parts are removed/replaced, Offcourse the pus is outside the turntable.
Looking at the vestax, which I have a lot units from , but allways replaced the caps when I bought one second hand and never had
problems with the motor or transformer, where a lot of people's complain about. The motor and transformer are nothing wrong with . Often is maintenance the problem.

You have a short in your unit, and you will need professional assistance in determining the cause. You might also want to try a different outlet. If it fails, then you'll need to bring it to a service center for repair.
