Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional

Unusual problems with sign-in

Hi
I've Emailed Fixya about this, but not 100% convinced it's at their end.

I've never experienced problems like it. I'm running the chat utility in the bottom toolbar - and that says I'm signed in.
I can go directly to a question from Email link by clicking "here" on it.
I can do the usual hopping about - then suddenly - nada!

I can't get into the lounge - keeps sending me back to the sign in page, & says I'm logged out. I can click my products tab - and I get back in again???
Sometimes I can't see any of the premium questions - even if they're still active, or I answer a standard question - and hit post(or enter) - and I'm shown my Edit profile page - I hit enter on that, and the answer gets posted ?????

The problems start when I keep getting shown that I'm unavailable....then it all goes weird - sometimes saying server is busy.
This also sometimes screws up if my partner just logs me out to check her Emails - I can't log in again.

Seems to happen mid morning - but clears by 4pm - and again around 6 ish for a short while. - there is a definate pattern to the times.

Tried running anti V scans, Adaware, AVG,Spybot - never find anything serious.
Just wondered if it could be a cookie issue?

Your imput greatly apreciated.
Thanks.

Well check your browser settings, I haven't had any problems in a while. delete all the files from your browser
Unusual problems with sign-in - 4b10f46.jpg
also check that your security settings are at defaults and cookies same with that, well basicly get everything back to defaults.

I kept geting this wierd message that you have been logged out that someone else has logged in with my account I don't remember the message exactly but it was something to that direction.

Changed my passwords a few times and been fine.

well ive noticed that the chat availablity on the fixya page doesn't matter I can have it on unavailable but il still get chat requests since I have the desktop tool runing.

I noticed that my outlook adds :80 into the address when trying to open a link from fixya email - I had to remove that to get the links to work again.

well I don't know everything working fine here, may be something at your end.

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Most of my emails have gone missing, can they be retrieved.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

Common reasons for missing emails;

Settings applied to incoming mail, such as a filter or forwarding

A configuration issue with IMAP1 or POP2 access

Deliberate or accidental human action, or possibly a compromised account

check all of your folders, trash, all mail, forwarding and POP/IMAP settings, and check your filters to make sure nothing is being stopped.

If you've deleted a message permanently, by clicking Delete Forever in your Spam or Trash, you won't be able to recover the message using the Gmail interface.

If you've moved a message to Trash, by clicking Delete, but it's been fewer than 30 days and you haven't permanently deleted it, follow these steps to put it back in your inbox:
  1. Sign in to Gmail.
  2. Click Trash along the left side of any Gmail page. (If you don't see Trash along the left side of your Gmail page, go to the Labels tab in Settings, then click the show link next to the Trash label.)
  3. Locate the message you'd like to move to your inbox, and check the box next to the sender's name.
  4. Click Move to Inbox.
If you feel that someone has been in your gmail, you can test this and see if someone from another IP has been in your mail! ( i really like gmail for so many reasons)

When you sign into your Gmail, look all the way down on the bottom right. It will show recent activity and IP addresses that have accessed your mail. You can also sign up for 'alerts' to unusual activity/sign ins from here.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. It seems that there is a static on the device when it receives power. You can try to use a different power cable and see if that is the cause of the issue or the problem is caused bya bad system board of the device. This can be a hardware issue but we need to verify it first by doing the steps below.

After lots of work my 1972 Honda CL100 scrambler is up and running, however, I'm not convinced it's running to it's fullest capacity. Here's what I'm experiencing; at the high RPM end...

They are not a rocket ship, but I would expect closer to 50mph .
need good air filter element.
ignition advance springs can cause a problem, or the advance may be sticking.
need good battery, recheck point gap, timing and valve clearance.
check for exhaust blockage(see if it revs better without the muffler)

You have probably tried most of these, but there is not much else, they should rev sweetly right though the rev range

I have a tv set that is 12yrs old and now there is green line on the screen, is it time to throw this set away?

Hi Sheila,
12 yrs of service is already fine. If you are going to send it to repair shop and spend around $50-$100 depend upon the faulty parts and you didn't know how long it will last after it repaired, I've suggest you to upgrade to more high end unit. It will give you more quality picture and experienced the advance technology.
Hope it may help you.
Have a nice day!

Hard starting, engine wild, uneven engine idle

Hi and welcome to FIxYa!

If the engine is acting wild and experiencing a rough idle then the problem will be on the MAF sensor. If the MAF is faulty the engine acts unusual so I strongly suggest a MAF sensor replacement.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
