My son got x box for birthday for christmas. We have been trying to get it connected to wireless. we bought router and wireless adaptor specifically for x box. Netgear have tried on 3 separate occasions to get us connected. They managed to get my laptop connected but fail when it comes to x box. Could it be the x box thats the problem or are we doing something wrong.

If you do not have a router that you can plug directly into the back of the Xbox 360 then yes you will need to purchase a wireless router to sync up with your wireless router that you already have downstairs. You didn't specify if your broadband router had wireless capabilities? Does it? If not then you will need to buy a wireless router to be able to hook up your Xbox 360.

Microsoft has their own personal wireless router that fits on the back of the Xbox 360 nicely. I would recommend you purchase it due to ease of installation and compatability.

Here is a link to an example of what it looks like: http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/accessories/xbox-360-wireless-n-networking-adapter/76045?ref=recpdp&cross=802124

And a cheaper older model: http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-360/accessories/xbox-360-wireless-network-adapter/40678

And here is a link to Xbox step by step wirless hookup: http://support.xbox.com/en-us/pages/xbox-live/get-started/connecting/wireless.aspx

If you are having specific issues then ask away and I can see what I can do to help you out. Try to be specific on what your current setup is and what problems you are having. thanks.

Yes my son got a ps3 for christmas he had been playing online on one of his games and then he tried one day and it says it cant connect but has 100% signal. What do i need to do to fix this problem?thanks

You must first determine if you have been messing around with the configuration on the router, assuming that is connecting your PS3 to the internet, or the PS3 itself. Try this:
http://www.zolved.com/synapse/view_content/19797/Playstation_3__How_to_setup_your_Internet_connection
it all really depends on the router settings itself: if it is a wired or wireless connection it must be of certain range for the PS3 to understand; thus, I must know what router make and model you are using.

try using a wired connection. most wireless are pretty bad connections for online mode. when you use it, go(on the ps3) on SETTINGS then INTERNET CONNECTION SETTINGS then try wired, or wireless and try again. =)

I cant use xbox live without plugging into router which im unable to do. Is there another solution

You can do it wirelessly. You need a wireless router and if you have an older model Xbox(The newer models have the wireless adaptor built in) you need to by the wireless adaptor. Found a Liknsys Cisco wireless N-300 router refurbished on Tiger Direct for under $30. I bought one there excellent same one at Walmart between $60 and $90. The Adaptor for the 360 is $79.99 to $99.99 and you can get those online or at Walmart and Gamestop.

How Can I Get My Ps2 To Go Online What Parts Are Needed

You need the Network Adapter and you have to sign up and pay money/ month
http://au.ps2.ign.com/articles/366/366021p1.html
f you are hooking it up to a DSL cable/modem,
1. Remove the sticker covering the network connector on the Network Adaptor and
plug your Ethernet cable in the connector labeled NETWORK.
2. Plug the AC power cord for the PlayStation2 system into an electrical outlet.
3. Turn on the PlayStation2 system and start the Network Adaptor Start-up Disc.
If you are hooking it up to a router:
1. Remove the sticker covering the network connector of the Network Adaptor.
2. Connect an Ethernet network cable from the NETWORK connector of the Network Adaptor to an available LAN port of the router.
3. Connect the WAN port of the router to the DSL or cable modem.
4. Connect a personal computer (not pictured) to an available LAN port of the
router. Use a web browser on the PC to set up the router to reach the
Internet.
5. Follow the specific instructions that come with the router. There is no additional installation for switches.
If you are hooking it up to a LAN:
1. Remove the sticker covering the network connector of the Network Adaptor.
2. Connect an Ethernet network cable from the NETWORK connector of the Network Adaptor to a wireless Ethernet bridge.
3. Connect the WAN port of the wireless router to the DSL or cable modem.
4. Connect a personal computer to the router. Use a web browser on
the PC to set up the router to reach the Internet.
5. Follow the specific instructions that come with the router.

I have a wireless router in my bedroom where the internet comes into my house. My sons got a PS3 and have hooked it up, it is now saying the ethernet cord in not connected. What is this and how do I fix...

Check that ethernet cord is plugged in correctly to router.Ethernet cord looks like a telephone cord.
must be in the lan port of router.

You need to have a ethernet cable going from the back of the ps3 to your router in 1 of the ports.

or ps3 needs a wireless adaptor to pick up the wirless signal from the router.

Cannot connect to xbox live with wireless adapter

Ok, I am just going to start out by saying do you have a wireless router.  I know this may seem obvious to some people, but I have ran into many incidents where people were under the impression that if they have a computer and the internet, the wifi for the xbox will work.  If you dont have a wireless router, or there is not one built into your DSL box, then you can hop down to walmart or newegg.com and get one for around 30-40 bucks.  Hope this helps.

I cant get an IP adress what i it it says faild

If the X-Box is trying to connect wirelessly to your network, you might need to access the router page and check the wireless settings and make sure that you have the correct encryption or network key, Check the MAC address filtering of the router and make sure that it is disabled or it is off, If you are using a D-link router it is under the Advance tab, Network filter, on the other routers mostly they are under security options, Now after checking those on your router follow the following steps

- Go to the X-Box Dashboard
- Go to Network settings
- If the X-Box is wireless you should have on option for wireless at the bottom of the page
- Select your wireless network and test the X-Box Live
- If it is a wired connections
- Test X-Box Live It should now all connect and confirm the IP, DNS, ICMP
- NAT may show as strict but it should be able to connect to X-Box Live
- If you want to Set the NAT to Open
- Check the IP address of the X-Box by going to Network settings then Edit settings
- Then go to the computer again
- Access the router page
- Go to port forwarding normally located under an advance tab
- Open the ports UDP 88, UDP 3074, and TCP 3074 (here's one example, http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Dlink/DIR-655/Xbox_Live_360.htm)
- The IP address field must be filled with the IP address you got from the X-Box

Hopefully this solve's your problem sir
brakke_usaf..Good Luck and Merry Christmas to you and your family..

Make sure you have the X-Box Adapter on the same channel as the wireless access point...If your WAP is not broadcasting the SSID then you will have to manually put it in...
