While the phone is not in use, press the up arrow until you get the ringer volume you want.

While the phone is not in use, press the UP ARROW until you get the ring you want (There are 2 types of rings, each with 2 volumes). To turn ringer OFF, press the DOWN ARROW until the screen displays "Ringer Off". (Note you can keep
pressing either the UP or DOWN arrows & it will cycle you through all choices.)
The phone will ring out its different types of rings, while you're doing this, & give you silence when it says "Ringer Off". Just keep the button continuously pressed til you're where you want. :)

Usually answered in minutes!
Tried to activate handset by entering my phone number and pressing the pound sign (once then twice, three times), then tried star button still no dial tone after placing it in cradle without hitting the end button.
The volume is up but I can't hear it ringing?
