Question about Jenn-Air 36 in. CCGP2720P Gas Cooktop

Broken griddle control

The griddle control was broken and anytime I plug the unit in it blows the breaker and sparks at the griddle switch. I have left it unplugged and light the burners with a lighter.

Doe anyone know the part number of the item to replace (griddle switch) and the directions to replace?

I have the same problem with my jen air gas cook top. In the instructions that you were sent (which I have a copy of also) I can not see where it shows how to get into the control panel and replace the actual control knob.

I have the same problem, but I can not figure out how to get the front panel off the cooktop. The instruction manual doesn't seem to cover that. Perhaps I am missing something?

    Thanks Brent

It sounds like you have a short. Replace the switch is very simple. Here are the Owners Manual and the Instalation Instructions.

Hello friend, thanks for your post!

I see that the indicator for your cooktop continues to remain on for your Frigidaire range. It sounds like it could be a potential issue with your switches or control panel. I would recommend a reset on your range which you can do by flipping the household circuit breaker off for ten minutes. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

Meat does not brown in gas oven

Hello - Try resetting the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately two minutes and turn the range back on. Select a normal bake cycle and if issue continues then the unit may possibly have either a faulty element, bad communication error with the main control board, oven sensor, or mechanical thermostat. I strongly suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately. They also usually warranty their labor just in case something else may turn out to be the root cause of your initial problem and it does work out better to your advantage.

My problem with my AKT3650 is the unit sparked and threw a breaker at only one control. Even turned off the unit will throw a breaker and spark. I was thinking it was just one of the switch components -...

So doing anything will throw the breaker? Must have a shorted wire either going to ground on the cooktop of where the cord wires in at the cook top. Dont know exactly but be looking for wiring with insulation gone and rubbing the frame or each other

Thermador Gas Range - Griddle ignition will not spark

I have a Thermador Gas Range PG364GDBS - Oven, 4 burners, and center griddle. All are gas. The four burners and gas oven work fine. The griddle just stopped working, no spark. Turning on the griddle control, the gas valve opens(hear it), gas flows (smell it), but the ignitor will not spark (no loud or faint spark that I can hear). I got a replacement ignition device (mount at the burner) thinking it might be the problem, but still no spark. I checked the AC voltage at the terminal and measured 39 VAC between the terminal and ground. Not sure if that is the correct voltage. Any insights or advice would be great.

Both burners turn on when only one is needed

I just had the same problem- when I replaced the whole cartridge.
I repalced the infinite switch- do the one that gets the hottest- or do both.
It is easy to do- just write down the wiring diagram - make sure all power is off- cost of new switch was about $37.00
This solved the problem- however make sure to check the sizng on the new switch shaft as my old knob would not fit properly on the shaft of the new switch.
    good luck
