Belt came off. I took out all the screws (including the one hiding under the paper label that gives directions on turning for edging and height adjustment) Saw belt came off, but couldn't get it back on without bending larger of the two grooved pulley. Poor design. Way to go to China B&D!!!!

Brew unit blocked message The brew unit removed and switches jumped, motor turns message still blocked brew unit . what could it be and ways to tests.

I had the same issue. Very difficult to fix. You must remove brew unit and reset the machine while apart. You must trick the machine to think brew unit is installed and door closed. Look at door and brew unit and use screwdriver or butter knife to engage machine and run through cycle to reset.

I turn on machine & it starts to draw water straight away ( without the coffee button being pushed) only way to stop it is to push in steam button

What you are describing sounds to me as though your steam knob is open. Close it by turning it clockwise, or toward you. When this is open, it is drawing either water or steam, depending on whether you engage the steam button, and you will always hear the drawing (motor) sound.

I turn the machine on and the light blinks and it will not heat the water. I have tried using a magnet to move the float, but the float is at the top.

Do you see a fast or a slow blink? If you see:
  • A fast blink: the machine has encountered some condition that prohibits it from engaging the heater element. This could be a low water level detection (the float being in the high position doesn't mean the Reed relais is also triggered!), some other malfunction or a power problem. To rule out the latter, plug the Senseo into another wall socket, preferrably another electric group.
  • A slow blink: your Senseo is feeling happy and is unaware of a problem. This may point to a defective heater element. If you do hear the rumbling noise of water being heated, it's most likely the temperature sensor - both are cases for the repair shop.

Even after adding water to resorvoir, the motor does not turn on to pump water.

What is your display showing? When you plug in the unit is it off, or do you need to turn it on with the power button?

I'm spending my saturday working on a similar problem. Mine automatically turns on and goes to a "not ready to brew" screen, no buttons work, and the motor will not engage. I put in request to their support line, will let you know if I get it working...

I cannot brew one pot after another. It seems that the heating element will not cool off so it will not trigger the fresh pot to brew.

Do you turn off the pot before you refill the reservoir to brew the second pot? The heating element should not have anything to do with triggering the second pot. Turn off the coffee maker, change/refill the coffee, refill the reservoir and turn the pot back on. This works on my Cuisinart.

Clear coffee?

Hello, After many years in the coffee game there are only 3 possible reasons for this, either the water is not heating, this would cause the water to not extract the coffee from the grounds. Or your filter is folding over and the water is running down past the filter....Lastly and the most probable is the spay head is blocked and the water is coming out the over flow if there is one, which is then bypassing the filter. Things to check would be heat, spray head and filter. Hope this helps...Mike

Airlock in new machine

I have a similar problem, I think. I get water through the steam thing, but not through the brew head. Not sure what to do either.
