Technika MP108 not being recognized when plugging in to XP vis USB. 'Technika' not charging image appearing on unit screen.

tweak the USB cable at the back socket of the box...there's a certain point where the cable will actually work and then you will have an image on the screen...sort of not quite completely fully in to the socket.

you're meant to be able to see an image on the screen and it's a manufacturing fault I think. good luck!

Try with a new charger.
If this does not help, replace the player.

   Remove the cap over the USB plug and insert the unit into the USB port of a desktop or laptop computer. The computer will recognize the Sansa Express as a new hard disk drive.

   Locate the battery icon on the upper right of the screen. The battery icon will fill in with color as the unit charges. When the icon is filled in, the charge is complete. The unit will fully charge in about 3 hours as long as the desktop computer or laptop is powered on.

   Plug the unit into the USB port of a car or AC adapter and then plug the adapter into an AC outlet or an auto cigarette lighter socket, as the case may be. The Sansa Express will charge in about 3 hours.
   

I had the same issue. I would plug it in and it would recognize the device then it would disappear.

What I did to solve the problem was to first turn on my Gamin 200w. After it was finished loading maps then I plugged in in to the usb port. My machine recognized the device without any problems. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium. Hope that helps.

I had this problem when I bought mine 2 days ago. I was about to take it back to Tesco when I tried to just charge it using a car cigar lighter socket to usb converter. Again it came up with Technika on the screen but this was soon replaced by the word "Charging".

I let it charge for a while and was then able to use the device as per the instructions.

It appears that the device cannot be used without being charged up slightly beforehand. I bought my 12v adapter for £3 - it's worth a try.

you have to enable the usb support settings in the Bios setup,
how to do it?
step 1.
restart your unit.before the windows logo appear press the del or F2 to enter to Bios setup utility,

step 2.
in the chipset, look for the usb controler ,make it enable then save the changes and restart your unit.
