Question about HP Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

HP Office jet Pro L7780 and windows xp on first pc and vista on other pc Problem: setting up direct digital filing so that I can scan from all in one machine to a shared folder on one of my computers and it gives an error code saying username and password is incorrect. However on the first pc they were correct and on the 2nd pc I tried it doesn't have a username or password, but I still get the same error message as above. HP claim I have not set up direct digital filing correctly however I followed the instructions precisely. Any ideas, perhaps I have not set up file sharing correctly but it seems fairly intuitive? Thanks.

The L7780 is connected by ethernet cable to my router, and the two computers are wirelessly connected to the router. I know that both pc's can print. There is communication amongst the devices.

No it won't scan to either computer, I only need it to work to one shared folder on one pc. I just tried the second pc because the first one wouldn't work. But it doesn't work to either one.

Can I scan from my wireless hp office jet pro 8500A to a memory card?

The easiest way would be to scan the image or text to your computer, then transfer it from there to your memory card. I'm sorry but this printer model does not scan directly. Hope this helps =]

Free driver for HP ScanJet 6300C

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software3/sj675/sj-22000-1/sj675en.exe

Download the file above > unplug your scanner > install the file above > reboot your computer (if needed) > login into your account > plug the scanner into your usb port > it should automatically detect your scanner > goto device manager > imaging device > right click HP Scan Jet .... > Click on Driver Tab > Click on Roll Back Driver > choose to run the driver on windows xp compatibility mode.

Or use the compatibility wizard to set scanjet pro to run on windows xp compatibility mode
