Hitachi TV 50in model 5OUX58B TV won't turn on.

Manufactured 1998 Working fine then one day went to turn on, heard "click" and then nothing. No picture, no sound, no "on" light. Tried different surge protector, different plug. Is this fixable? Do you still make the parts? If so, how much or in other words, is it worth fixing vs. buying a new one? The diagnosis fee from Circuit City is $100 and don't want to spend if not viable. Actuallly, can't afford new one so will have to go without.
