I have a KitchenAid KCS25INS01 side-by-side counter depth refrigerator that keeps beeping. There are three consecutive short beeps that are heard 3-10 minutes apart from one another. There's no consistency to the timing between beeps. Sometimes the fridge will go on for hours without beeping. Once the beeping starts, all internal dome lights and digital displays go out.

What stops the unit from beeping is either opening the door several times and closing it, turning off the fridge with the hard buttons inside the fridge and waiting 10-20 seconds before turning it back on, or unplugging the fridge for a few minutes and plugging it back in. This only stops the problem for a few hours if we're lucky. Once the beeping has stopped, the internal dome and digital displays come back on again.

The concern is that the unit is beeping because the temperature inside the fridge has reached an unsafe level. This is not what I expected for an 18-month old fridge that cost me $2800.

I think I may have the solution, after having suffered through the same problem for months. I have a Kenmore Elite side-by-side which is really the same as KitchenAid and Whirlpool. Having thought of complicated solutions first, I have finally gotten back to step 1, simple solution. Tape the switch on the top of the freezer compartment and see if that works for you. I believe the door while seemingly closed is not pushing the switch in far enough. If that works for you, you can probably glue something to the top of freezer door so it can push in the door switch a little better. The reason that it beeps is that the switch is not pushed in enough and the light is still on inside while the door is closed. The refrigerator then thinks the door is still open. I really hope this works for you as I can sympathize with you having listened to the beeps for months. I feel sorry for people who have changed one circuit board after another to no avail. And there are so many stupid repairmen out there offering dumb advices and perform needless repairs.

SOURCE: Freezer keeps beeping and switching off

Next time this happens unplug it for about 10 minutes. When you plug it back up you should be able to turn it back on normally. This resets the board, much like restarting your computer. If the problem happens again, you will probably have to replace the board. You also want to make sure you have a good ground on the circuit and a steady power supply without too much fluctuation. Hope this helps.

FRIG KEEPS BEEPING BUT DOORS R CLOSED TIGHT

Not knowing the make and model of your fridge, I would suggest reseting the fridge and freezer temperature settings, inside your fridge. With some fridges like Fisher & Paykel, when the power is cut to the fridge, it will beep until you select the temperature level inside the fridge.
Failing that, a constant beep is a warning code to alert that a fridge component has failed.

The fridge keeps beeping every few hours and you need to keep pressing the button in when it beeps also thetop of the fridgeis not cold as it should be

Generally either the fridge of freezer internal fan motor isn't working. The beeping is telling you there is something wrong. You can check this with a strong magenet on the door switch. Leave one door closed and put the magenet on the door switch and the light will go off. Then feel the back of the internal wall and see if you can feel air movement. Then check the other compartment the same way.
