Question about Lands Phones

1 Answer

Whenever a door to the outside of my house is opened while someone is on the phone, the connection is lost and it is several minutes before I can get a dial tone again. I have older model cordless phones and a land line phone. I also have wi-fi. Have you heard of this problem before?

Happened to my grandma and she got it fixed by her service provided. Can be a pain in the *** sometimes, heard that it had something to do with gadgets conflicting with its frequency because they were similar or something.

RHEEM RGLG-05EAUER Occasionally, on startup, there is a fair gas smell from the vents for a few seconds.

I think I'd have it checked for a bad heat exchanger. At the very least, make sure you have working Co2 detectors on all levels of the house. You should not be smelling gas from your hear ducts. This is not normal. If anyone in the house is developing a head ache, that would indicate a heat exchanger problem.

Won't turn on. Power went out to the whole house when roof was being replaced. Tell me where reset button is

What won't turn on? If the entire house lost electricity, that means that either the main electric line was severed or the main breaker in your panel was tripped. I suspect the latter. Go to your main electrical panel, open the door and look at the top of the panel. There should be one large breaker marked either 100 125 150 or 200 A. This is your main breaker. Turn it off and turn it on.
If you don't know where your electrical panel is, go outside and look to see where the electric wire comes from the pole to your house. There will be a meter pan here with a glass housing on it. Your panel is almost always directly opposite of that meter inside your house so figure out what room that aligns with and that's where your panel is. I hope this helps.

Rear door wont open with inside or outside handle

Sounds as if the linkage to the latch has become disconnected. If you can remove the inner door panel (may not be possible with door shut) you should be able to see the problem. If not, this may take someone with knowledge of your specific make. It is possible to open some with a "slim jim" type of tool, but not all.

My in house telephones are not working, but the internet is working.WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE THE TEELEPHONE WORK AGAIN.

Have you paid the phone bill? Are you supposed to have phone service?

Providing that you have a contract with the phone company and it's paid up, take a hardwire telephone out to the grey junction box on the outside of the house. Open the junction box and plug your phone into one of the two phone jacks inside, Try the phone. If you get no dial tone, try the other phone jack.

If you get no dial tone from either phone jack, borrow a hardwire telephone from a neighbor and try both jacks again with the borrowed telephone.

If no dial tone with your phone or your neighbor's phone, then the problem is on the phone company's side of that junction box.

If your neighbor's phone works but yours doesn't, the problem is your phones - lightening strike, maybe?

If your phone works in the junction box but not inside the house, then the wiring from the junction box to your house jacks has a bad connection somewhere. Someone - you or someone else - will have the arduous task of tracking down where that bad connection is.

Nissan pathfinder problems

Check childproof lock if you can open it from the inside, but usually the connection between the handle and the lock for the outside door handle breaks.
if you can't open the door using either inside or outside door handles, go to a locksmith, auto electrician or a Nissan dealer or risk severely damaging the interior door panelling trying to do this yourself...
Please get back to us with the solution you found worked as it may help someone else in the future, thanks.

Venting of microwave - house stinks of bacon

Interesting post, because I have the same problem! I have spent the better part of today researching and taking our microwave apart (partially) to inspect the top portion re: outside vent. Everytime the microwave is on, the "active vent door" (manufacturer's term, not mine!) opens. Apparently this is normal. But it also opens when you turn on the vent fan, when cooking on the stovetop. I don't like this feature, because I think it 'overrides' the outside venting system. I double checked our outside vent to ensure that when this oven was installed, the person did in fact allow the flap to be open when the fan is on (he did). So I think what 'our' problem is, is that the microwave active vent sort of interferes with the outside vent, thus more of the cooking smell being blown into the house instead of the outdoors. I was thinking of simply disconnecting the gizmo that make the active vent door open each time you use the oven and/or vent fan option however I don't think that's a good idea as apparently the main purpose of the active vent door is to keep the electronics of the microwave oven from overheating. The more I read about this version of microwave, the less impressed I am with it. Lots of electronic issues with it. I am not fussy either with having the microwave over the cooktop. Sorry I don't have a solution for your problem but I do feel your pain!!!

No dial tone on phone

When this happens you need to take the phone outside and open the phone box and plug it in. If it works the problem is inside of your house. If it does not work the problem is with the telephone company. Note if it does not work right away when you take it outside. Wait ten minutes before reconnecting the house wires. And try it again. Sometimes the telephone company will keep it disconnected for 10 minutes until the problem is taken off the line.
