The Cisco Catalyst 2960-XR switch models have the following additional capabilities in addition to the features in the Cisco 2960-X models:
Dual-FRU power supply with integrated fan
Layer 3 features with IP Lite feature set
Configurable 8 queues per port (standalone)
48 Ether channel groups http://www.3anetwork.com/search/2960x
1. Send the MAC address to D-Link's support (along with the model of your switch) and they can tell you what the master password for your switch is. - They don't need you to send in the switch. That's just a load of bull****. 2. Telnet to the IP of the switch/use console to access the switch. 3. use the password given and you're in. 4. Add a new user and set a new password. 5. Delete the old user. 6. Save settings.
Please follow the steps below to reset the password
1. Power Off and Power ON the switch 2. Immediately enter 'b' to go to the boot monitor mode 3. Do not Enter any password in boot monitor mode. 4. Enter boot system flash primary 5. You will be getting a prompt as 'FastIron>'
Let's check some settings for the network connections. Click on "start" - "settings" - "control panel" - "network connections". First we'll check the ethernet connection. Right click on "local area connection" - "properties" - choose "Internet protocol (TCP/IP)" - "properties". In case of not at automatically settings click on both buttons to "obtain an IP address automatically" and "obtain DNS server address automatically". Click on OK at both windows. Now we'll check the Wi-fi connection. Right click on "Wireless connection" - "properties" - choose "Internet protocol (TCP/IP)" - "properties". In case of not at automatically settings click on both buttons to "obtain an IP address automatically" and "obtain DNS server address automatically". Click on OK at both windows.

No,those aren't options for you, unfortunately you're stuck with 802.11b.It's the narrowest,or slowest, broadband wireless connection that you can get at 11Mbps. The 11g can at times attain 54Mbps and 11n connections up to 300Mbps.
As technology keeps getting faster and cheaper, the more recent cards and routers are showing up at places like overstock.com for discount prices.
Don't get me wrong, what you have will work, but I don't know if you'll be satisfied with your speed.
Remember,if you go looking for replacements, make sure your system meets,or better yet exceeds the min. requirements, and that your Op. System will support the hardware.

I just bought one too, I've been combing the pages and the net trying to decode the features. I'm using Media Monkey to upload the MP3's to the player.. It plays and sounds great surprisingly. The only thing I'm having problems with is creating a playlist, viewing it and choosing individual songs. Seems to be easier said than done! I sure miss my 4gb IPOD nano I gave to my girlfriend.. Keep experimenting with the features you'll get it all set up.
Unfortunately, the DES-1005 can not be configured to behave as hub and send all the packets to your analyzer software.
Do you have a manageable switch available. Most manageable switches have a "port mirroring" or "monitor" function that allows you to copy all the traffic passing through one port to another port...where the wireshark can receive it for analysis.
