Can't help u much, however, I rec'd the "HDD error" msg as well. All I did (out of panic) was turn off computer, pull out battery, put battery back in and then it was fine again for viewing off camera.
Hope at least THAT helps!

Format the hard drive, one of the files on the hdd are corrupt, I had the same problem and I formatted the hard drive on my camera and the computer would read the camera again. It sucked though because I lost all my pictures in the process but that was the only way to get it to work. I had tried everything else before that.

SOURCE: My JVC Everio Camcoder keeps saying HDD Error!

reformat your hard drive. That way it will correct the error or flag it as a bad sector.

SOURCE: Playback on PC has no sound

Are you playing the video back through the camcorders utility ? Sometimes by clicking on the file through windows explorer you will get the picture but no sound, this happens for the Sony camcorder but is fixed by running the playback through the motion picture browser application supplied with the camcorder.

I have JVC everio 60gb HDD, how do I save videos and pictures to the micro SD card?

Did it come with a browser for uploading from your camcorder? My JVC did and I used that to burn to disc then to my computer. Then I copied/pasted to sd card/usb

I want to copy analogue files from my VCR to my Apple Mac using my JVC GZ-MG365 camcorder

You will have to copy the VHS cassette to cd, then using the cd, upload the file to a you tube account or video player.

I have the Everio 30BG and have downloaded all the files onto my computer, however there is a message showing 'insufficient space' when I try to record, and yet there are not files. HELP>

Are you saving to the micro SD card or to the HDD? You need to go into your menu options to ensure that you are saving to the HDD automatically. Sometimes I used to save to the SD for pics and the HDD for video (set up in the menu). Maybe you are deleting the HDD files but automatically recording to the full SD card?! Check

Can't transfer videos from JVC Everio camcorder onto my MAC

Share: How to import .tod files from JVC Everio HDD Camcorder to iMovie?

Requirements: iMovie (Part of the iLife 08 package)

Step 1: Connect the Everio to the Mac (Via USB)
Make sure you are powering the Everio from the mains before connecting your JVC Everio Camcorder.

Step 2: Playback on PC
Select “Playback on PC” on the Everio, once connected you will see the Everio HDD symbol appear on the desktop. The video files on the Everio are stored in the SD Folder/PRG***/MOV***.MOD.

Step 3: Open iMovie
Once you open iMovie, you will see that it recognizes the Everio straight away and will attempt to import your video.

You are now ready to use iMovie to edit your video files.

If need change .tod files to common video formats like mov, mp4, m4v, mpg, mpeg, dv, flv, avi, wmv, 3gp, mkv, mp3, aac, wma, m4a, etc. Mod Tod Video Converter for Mac is a good choice. The program can also convert mod tod to ipod, mod tod to iphone, tod to apple tv, tod to blackberry and more devices!

Problem sending the files by email for others to play on their PC

It is probably too big of an attachment to send. The other alternative might be to look at uploading your videos onto You Tube or another service and e-mailing the link to the video to them. If you are concerned about privacy on you tube, you can enable a setting on the sheet so that you pick and choose who can look at the videos as well.
