Question about Sony Mavica MVC-FD200 Digital Camera

3 Answers

It will not turn on// green light flashes then goes out.

Only way to repeat process is remove and replace battery. camera is useless// will not work. Surely Sony have the solution, but contact with them only produced uncaring comments. Does someone have an answer or do I need to dump it?? (It once worked ok)

am not sure if you can fix this. but we can give a try to sort out the probelm

you may have a serious problem with the power circuit of your camera.

but if you have dropped it and if it has recieved a excess shock then it could have damaged the main circuits of the camera.

so try a different battery and try your luck.

if it does not solve the problem it can be some serious internal fault.

if you have experience in repairing cameras then you can open it and investigate it.

    thank you

    hope this helps

    good luck
    have a great day

You have a problem with the CCD circuitry, and this will require a service, not something we can do on this forum, unfortunately..

Look around, if your cam is not under warranty, and if the service cost is too high, I'd say junk it and buy a new cam..This repair is not one for a novice, and requires the attention of a skilled technician..

Pix shuts off, green light starts flashing, pix comes back and shuts off again

If you have an issue where your picture turns off and the green power light starts flashing, you are most likely looking at a weak or old lamp. Do not be confused with a pix loss and a RED light flashing, as this can be caused by many things. The normal sequence of events for this fix is this:
1) TV turns on normally, plays for 1 to 3 minutes (may be more or less time)
2) Picture goes out and green power light begins flashing. It may flash for up to 2 minutes
3) green light turns on solid (stops flashing) and picture returns.
4) Picture goes out again and process repeats.

You may have been told that "if the lamp light isn't on, it isn't a bad lamp".
FALSE!
A weak lamp will cause the process above to occur. Other signs of a weak lamp:
The reflector in the lamp is very cloudy
You may see a "growth" or "bubble" on the vertical glass tube which is the lamp
You haven't replaced the lamp in quite some time or it is the original lamp from when you purchased the TV.

In cases like these, try a new lamp. Stick with an original Sony lamp, as there are many stories (both personally witnessed by me and also documented on the web) about problems with after market replacement lamps. And remember, lamps DO NOT have a shelf life; you can store them in a good environment (not too hot or cold!) for an indefinite period with no ill effects.

With new batteries already put in--no power

Are you using rechargeable batteries, and have tried lots of different batteries? Also, sometimes rechargeable batteries fresh out of the package can be dead or have very little juice. Just a thought...Hard to say that's it though if you were having the same thing happen before...

What happens when the light blinks red and green repeatedly every time I want to turn the camera on? I know that this camera also uses batteries. Does this mean I should replace them?

D80 and SB-600 FV Lock doesn't work anymore

In whacky situations like this it is always best to re-set your camera and flash settings. Somewhere on your D80 you will find two function buttons with small green dots next to them. These are the resets. Push both in at the same time until the display LCD flashes.. The camera is now reset to default settings. You will now have to re-set your FV button to the custom setting you had it at before.

Also, reset you flash by turning on the power and removing the batteries and re-install them.
