Unrequested characters and nos on top of printed matter

A print test page does just that the printer will print every character that is in its memory, together with lines and if it has colours will also use the different colours

Run the "clean inkjets" routine followed by test pages until printout appears correct. Maybe the print cartridges are defective.

Turn on your inkjet printer and select the "Printer Assistant" program from your computer.

Choose "Utilities" or "Tools and Updates," depending on your software.

Select "Calibrate" to start the calibration process. It may take a few minutes.

Examine the printout and follow the instructions on your computer for how to pick the best printout. You will have to choose the straightest lines on the page and let the software know which lines are the straightest. Your printer will print out several more pieces of paper and ask you to find the straightest lines. Keep doing this until the lines on the test page appear straight.

There is a dot somewhere on the drum, remove the drum and toner cartridge from the machine, then remove toner from drum. Look at the shiny roll, you can turn it from the black gear on the side. Once you find the dot use a cue tip dipped into little bit of alcohol and clean it off.

open printing preferences and click on maintenance. Run the print head alignment utility. Sometimes this will remove the horizontal banding. I had this same problem and had to uninstall the printer and reinstall just like it was new, running the alignment feature before it was corrected. Worked ok for a few days then started again. I assumed that the printhead is bad. To costly to repair and bought a new printer.

if your missing horizontal lines, look at where the print is missing if you see imprints... u have bad ribbons.

Power off the printer & unplug from wall
Remove with phillips the top right cover. u will see that the control panel has a plastic clip needs to be pressed in for the control panel to come loose from the top right cover.
Then you will see P703 Hammerbank Ribbon Cable and
P704 Hammerbank Ribbon Cable swap these 2 cables on the Engine Controller Board part# 083368.
IF your missing characters move to another place on the printout then u will need to replace part# 083368.
IF your missing characters are still in the same place, then you will need to replace hammer module part# 081152, their is qty 11 of the individual 081152 about 1 inch wide. this will save $$$ ordering and replace 081152 if you have some at your work semi technical.
Be very careful with hands when powering the printer with the top right cover off

Adjust the printing properties from normal to best.

It is a bad Toner Cartridge or Fuser. Most likey a bad toner cart.
