I have the same problem with an MP3 GO from Laserco. The product says it works with "Windows 2000 and above" and I have Windows XP Home that I thought should be ok. Instead, the unit turns off when I insert the USB into the computer. I haven't been able to locate a suitable driver.

It will only hold about 20 songs (its 2gb) and will play on the computer but not thru the head phones (am I not switching it on properly?)

Plug your player into your computer with the USB lead,
Open MY COMPUTER and see the removable drive.
Right Click and select FORMAT
Note - this will delete everything on there but lets you start again and should hold many more songs
Hope this helps

My computer does not recogcnise the mp3 player when plugged in

you'll have to be more specific with what kind of mp3 player you have...and yes a driver download should fix the problem. also try going to start>control panel>add new hardware and go through the "Add new hardware wizard"
