When you see the login , press alt+ctrl+del two times. use administrator as a username and leave password blank. if it is successful then you can have new password of your account. after you login go to start->run-> type cmd-> type net user, you will see list of users like administrator, any account name including yours also. say your name is robert , type net user robert password . here password = any new password you want to create.

No password

I don't if it work for you or not!
but it is the easiest thing to do now!
Step 1: Start Windows PC
Step 2: When you can see the Windows login screen, press ctrl+alt+del keys Twice and it'll show Classic Login box
Step 3: Type Administrator as Username and leave the Password field blank
Step 4: Press the Enter Key and then you can be able to login the default windows administrator account which is it created by default when install windows.

Note: When you input the key combination Please don’t put the cursor on any account. And if you change the name or password before, you cannot login by this way.

Unfortunately, you have a illegal copy of windows xp on your system. MS is dectecting that and disabling your windows. You can still buy windows xp off of third party website. Becareful doing so, the average price is $139 or so.

How can i get in to my windows xp i lost/forgot my password. cd-rom is not working

Install a working CD-ROM drive.
Put your Windows XP disk into the CD-ROM drive.
Boot the computer from the CD-drive.
If you are very careful, and read the installation questions carefully,
and respond accurately, you can install another copy of Windows
onto the 'C:' drive, AND CHOOSE A FOLDER NAME THAT IS *NOT* 'C:\WINDOWS'.
Eventually, you can copy all your files from your "old" MY DOCUMENTS folder to your "new" MY DOCUMENTS folder.

How to recover forgotten admin password for windows xp ?

Option 1: If the user you have is an administrator account, go to the control panel and select user accounts. When you are in user accounts, find the account you want to remove the password from and you will see the option there.

Option 2: If your user is NOT administrative, you can use ERD commander to reset it. You basically burn ERD onto a CD and it will boot when you restart. There is a program called Locksmith that will remove or change the password for you.

Bought a used pc, do not have password for windows log-on. cannot get to bios, no boot up cd. what now?

Most XP machines have a built in administrator account that normally does not have a password.

You can try pressing F8 before Windows starts up to go into the XP bootup menu.

Choose Safe mode

Once into safe mode you should either see an 'Administrator' account listed, or just type in Administrator and do not type a password. If that works, go to Start-->Control Panel-->User Accounts. From there you can create a new user account for you to use with administrative privileges.

If that doesn't work, try downloading a password reset utility, such as the one at http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

Hope this helps

File sharing between windows 2000 and XP

1) I believe that Windows XP is not setup for that by default,
you may need to install the old BETBUI service.

2) Also, if the 2000 machine has a login password installed,
it will NOT allow any other machine to browse it, without
logging in.

3) Password-less file sharing over NETBUI was available
on the consumer side of windows:

Windows 3.11 for Work groups
Windows 95, 98 and Millenium.

The professional versions of windows, built on NT
technology require a login:

Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows XP,
and now Vista.

4) The best work around is to login to the 2000 machine when
it prompts you for a password, using your regular USER ID
and PASSWORD.

If the 2000 machine is not setup with a secure login,
just create a new account, ranking power user or higher.

5) Note that you only need to login over the network ONCE,
because windows XP can REMEMBER your password,
and login automatically the next time.

6) Make sure that the firewall (or A firewall) is not
blocking access to either machine, just disable the
firewalls for testing.

Similarly, if your LAN is behind a residential router, using
the router as a smart hub or switch, make sure that
the routers MAC address access blocking is disabled,
until you get everything setup and tested.

7) Finally if a PC is not visible in a work group, this does not
mean that it is not accessible. This is a Windows quirk.

You can try to access another computer by using the
default/administrative shares. These shares cannot be
disabled in XP, at least they will not stay disabled, as
they will restart during every reboot, whether you like it
or not.

This means that you can ALWAYS access all the drives
on another machine, whether you share them or not, unless
you take extreme measures in the local policies.

To access drive "E:" on a computer called "Henry" on a
machine in the same work-group,

open up windows explorer, and tyr the following into the
address line:

\\Henry\E$

This should access drive E:, after some delay, and possibly
a login prompt, even though drive is is NOT marked as
shared.

Down you just love windows ?!
Security by obscurity ?!
Microsoft is getting very good at hanging massive steel doors
on paper walls.

Hope this solves your problem, or gets around it.

I lost my adminitrators password

Go to www.loginrecovery.com from a working computer and download the application on that site to a disk. You can then use that disk as a startup disk on your pc that you are locked out of to get your password.
