I have an aspire 4741z laptop with windows 7 os. and i can not connect to internet. when i checked my device manager, i do not have ethernet and network controllers. what driver do i have to install?

I suggest you plug into the internet using an ethernet cable and then open the device manager and ask it to search for an updated driver.

Attach a Ethernet cable to the laptop, Open Device Manager, Network Adapters, Uninstall the Wireless adapter, reboot, Allow the software to apply the generic driver, try to connect to wireless network. Post results.

Go the Device Manager and see if the is a "?" in any of the lists.

As of the moment there is no driver support for the Acer Aspire 4315. If you have already installed Windows 7 and you can connect to a cable internet through your Ethernet Port, you can try downloading and install Driver Genius Professional which can assist you in getting the compatible driver. windows 7 automatically install all the drivers in case it had missed the driver kindly download the driver from friend system or internet cafe on your usb drive.

once your your online go to computer management > drivers and right click on WIFI card and click on update drivers it will download the drivers and install the drivers.

go to control panel check settings

check your lan driver if you are using cable.
right click on my computer
select properties
select hardware
then device manager
check network adapters
the device must be enabled or driver is present.
lastly check your cable or use other cable.

I would think you should be able to find all driver downloads on the Sony support site that pertain to your particular system. Most ethernet cards have a basic driver in the Windows OS (XP and above). You could try selecting the ethernet device in Device Manager, then properties and install from that point. Once you get on the internet, you can see if there is an update for it.
