Question about LG enV VX9900 Cellular Phone
I JUST CAME UPON YOUR MESSAGE ON HOW TO SOLVE THE DRIVER PROBLEM, I ALSO HAVE THE SAME PHONE AND MY
OPERATING SYSTEM IS VISTA.
YOU SAID THAT YOU WENT AND BOUGHT NEW USB CABLES AND
THAT THE CD CAME WITH IT. I UNDERSTOOD THAT YOU UNINSTALLED THE DRIVERS. DID YOU MEAN YOU UNINSTALLED THE OLD ONES AND USED THE CD FROM THE NEW USB CABLE TO INSTALL THE NEW DRIVERS. I HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR A FEW DAYS AND I CONTACTED TECH SUPPORT ON VERIZONS WEBSITE AND THEY ALSO MENTIONED THE STUPID MUSIC MANAGER AND IT DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
ANY FEED BACK WOULD BE APPRECIATED! YOUR MESSAGE WAS POSTED A WHILE AGO DON'T KNOW IF YOU WILL EVEN SEE THIS!
It's been a while! Here's what I discovered.
1. I had installed the drivers that came with the USB Cable. =Mistake.
2. Using the device manager, under Control Panel/System/Hardware in XP, I uninstalled the drivers. I can't remember what they were called now. You should be able to find them. They probably said "LG" in them.
3. Using windows explorer (browsing to C: drive as follows) I found the drivers at C:\Program Files\ and deleted the LG USBDrivers folder.
4. I went to the C:\Windows\system32/drivers folder and there were three LG*.* files I deleted them.
The next time I plugged the phone in and set it to sync, it worked.
