Try another charger, yours may be faulty. Alternatively,the battery may need replacing as it is no longer holding charge, these can be obtained very inexpensively from Ebay and you will just need a small cross head screwdriver to remove the cover on the back of the DS lite, then tap the unit in your hand to dislodge and remove the battery.

Does the yellow light come on when charging? Could be that the fuse for the charging circuit has gone, or on of the screens has been damaged. If it's only 4 months old and not been dropped etc, send it back to Nintendo I'd have thought.

Yes, this problem is normally caused by one or both of the fuses have blown on the logic board.

Yikes! Looks like your luck on dropping your system has run out. You might get lucky one more time. Open the battery compartment, remove the battery, and then put it back in and close the compartment. You may have knocked it loose.

try calling nintendo they might fix it but i do not know what they charge

maybe the charger is broken?or the tape of the nintendo DS is had a virus?

You could take it back to the store and tell them it is not functioning and they might give you a new one. oh and don't worry i've taken back 6 mp3 players before, lol.

You never want to play the DS while it's charging, if constsntly persisted it can cause a form of battery leak.

IMPORTANT: Don't charge the DS until it dies on you completely!

When charging the DS the system will display a red light to show it's at its lowest energy, the time it takes to fully charge a DS can take up to 2-3 hours. In the second hour of charging the light will appear green but you don't want to disturb it until the light goes off. ( showing it's energy is full )
