How do I remove electrical interference on my dvd recorder?

Hi David
You need to figure out how the interference is getting inside.
Look at the external connections.
HDMI Cable or Perhaps the Power Connector.
Noise from the power cable would be most likely.
A Ferrite Bead can often be clipped onto power lead to dampen electrical noise. Electronics supply stores have these.
If an AC to DC external box is used. What is the required DC input to your DVD ?
For example if the AC is dropped to 12v DC and then plugged into player via a small connector. You could get your own connector and supply from a 12v vehicle battery. Be careful to maintain correct polarity to tip of connector.
Use a cheap multimeter to check voltage & polarity.
Substitution....This would prove that the noise source is from the Power Supply.
Cheers

It hums when TV ( cable ) is on.

I do see a "Signal Gnd" connection on the rear of your Sony and you can safely try a physical "chassis-to-chassis" ground connection to see if this helps. Otherwise, it could be a defective cable box as the cheaply manufactured "wall wart" power transformers are notorious for poor RF and DC filtering which in turn causes the cable box to produce a 60 cycles hum. Good luck!

My fuses keep blowing in my behringer mx 2442a power supply

Fuses usually blow for a good reason - because something else is wrong.
A fuse may go once if it is just a bit old but if changing a fuse twice has not solved the problem then there is some sort of electrical fault that you need to trace. It could be
  • a short circuit - maybe a crack in the insulation in the cable somewhere - most likely point is where the cable enters or exits the power supply and is subject to a lot of flexing or where it joins the coil windings inside the transformer.
  • too much equipment connected to the power supply overloading it
  • an open circuit or failed component causing- too low a resistance allowing too much current to flow
  • a cable or component somewhere in the power supply that has too high a resistance for the current to flow causing a build up of heat at the weakest point - the fuse.
Unless the fault is something obvious like a broken wire it may just be a case of replacing the power supply

I have qsc amplphier and a behringer eurorack and trying to hook up 532e Graphic EQ to it, how please? Not sure of what I can get away with far as cords go and where do i connect it?

you have to use a tape monitor record in and out connections ( RCA )
it will require two sets of rca jacks ( left and right) (eq in to record out on reciever tape monitor / eq out to reciever in record on tape monitor )

Behringer eurodesk mx9000 Power supply problems

After a little research I discovered that Behringer has had problems in the past with there power supplys so I replaced the faulty one and so far the problem has been solved. Our local power company has been sending to much power to our church building and that is what caused to old power supply to burn out. We are still trying to get them to take care of their issues.

My car amp works produces distorded noise . As I plug in the rca cables i noticed that if just the tip of the connector touches i get a good sound but if i insert the whole connector it becomes distorded...

You have a grounding issue.

The RCA inputs of the amp are many times NOT tied to chassis ( the chassis of the car ) ground.

Same goes for the RCA outputs of your head unit.

The speaker outputs of your amp SHOULD NOT EVER be tied to chassis ground.

  • make sure that no speaker wire from the amplifier is touching or attached to ground.
  • Make sure that your amplifier ground (GND )( of the 3 power inputs.....GND, +12V, Rem) is securely mounted to a bare metal spot on the frame. Best practice is to have the amp GND, and the head unit GND at the exact same physical point.
  • Make sure that your RCA cable shield ( not the center tip, but the part around it ) is not touching the chassis.
  • Make sure that you have not nicked the wire while installing it and are accidentally getting a connection to the frame of the car.
  • Make sure that the head unit is grounded properly.
  • IF for some reason you have an equalizer between the head unit and the amplifier, make sure it has its own switching power supply INSIDE the EQ.
Bad grounds are a pain to troubleshoot......best of luck....Rob

I turn it on, it clicks off within a few seconds.

can you be more specific as to "plastic tabs that show signs of slight melting"? Like where are they in relation to components / power supply / heatsinks / power transformer? A first shot... it may be output power fets/transistors (one is open or shorted) that is making one or more of the speaker outputs go to the PS rail. DC shutdown. Does this receiver indicate any "overtemp" or "protect" warnings? I really need a little more specifics.
