Needs a new drive belt. Find the screws holding the bottom panel onto the floor section of the vac. take out those screws and you should see the motor and the brushes and a broken belt underneath the panel. Check that the brushes spin freely. If not you may have something like hair or string or something jamming the brush. If so cut out the obstruction and then rotate the brushes again and look to see if they rotate evenly, without wobbling because in some vacs if the brushes become jammed and run like that for a while sometimes it wears out the bearings or bushings holding the brush in place and if they are worn you need to replace those as well or when you replace the belt and run the vac it wont take long to break the belt again.

SOURCE: F7220-900 The brushes do not rotate, motor seems

Clean the lint filter first. Remove both tanks. Lay the cleaner down(unplugged from power of course) Below the brushes(directly behind them) to the right side as you're looking at the underside is the filter. Squeeze the filter frame, lift it and pull out. Wipe it clean and replace. Next clean the brushes. Take hold of the brush assembly and pull firmly. Clean under running water. On reassembly you may need to rotate the brushes slightly in order to refit the assembly.
Last, make sure the brush selector switch is "on"

The motor works when cover off but not when cover is on

Something must be blocking the rotation of the brushes. It has no chance to start rotation as it is immediately stopped by something.

My Roomba brushes are not rotating!

Is the yellow plastic bearing in and turning freely - or is there hair caught around it stopping it from moving? And is the other end of the brush (with the square peg) mounted properly?

My rotating brushes have stopped rotating

Almost certainly you have broken a drive belt. It is not a big deal though just turn it upside down and remove the base plate you should be able to access the belt from there. You should be able to get a belt pretty easy from an online retailer like vacuumspot

THis is not a self-propelled vacuum. The problem is that the brushes are no longer rotating on their own. They only 'brush and lift carpet' when I pull backward. I have ahd the vacuum for about 1 year. ...

Sounds like you need to take the brushes off the unit and clean the end pieces that the brushes rotate around. Not uncommon that they get dirty and stop rotating. Clean all debris and add a little WD40 on the end of the bush rods that the brush spins around. Make sure the belt is on properly.

The rotator brush stopped turning. it turns fine

The brush roll will only spin when your handle is not in the locked upright position, once the handle goes upright - the brushroll de-activates

The brushes stopped turning. I cleaned the filter

Can you rotate the brushes manually (grab some of the yellow bristles and rotate the brushes). If they are not jammed, then your air fan drive is clogged or broken. Air must pass through the fan to spin the brushes... so confirm air flow by powering the machine on and feeling for decent air flow. Clear any obstructions that my restrict air flow....

If the motor on the power brush is running the belt is bad, if the motor on the power brush only runs when you push the overload, the overload is bad.

Brushes do not rotate

Sounds as though your drive belt has come off. Or you have an object stopping the brushes from rotating.
