Can't connect to the internet, after a virus attack . Tried to open System Restore, but Can't...tried to open System Information, and Command Prompt, and can't.

Try to run a virus scan if you can with norton or whatever other program you have with the latest updates.

This should find the viruses and remove them as long as they aren't real bad then things should be okay.

If you can't get anything to run then at that point you'll need to wipe out the drive and restore your computer back to factory defaults.

If you need further help just let me know.

Internet Explorer Problem - PLEASE Help!

Hello,
I recommend running an anti-virus and anti-spyware program. In the case this does not work, the next solution is to reinstall Windows XP. This problem is associated with a computer possiblly corrupted with a virus or trojan.
Let me know if you need any suggestion on anti-virus and anti-spyware programs, or any questions about reinstalling Windows XP.
Thanks, Raph30

Connecting to network

Please download, install and run the Winsock fiix utility:

http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html

Make sure you use the option in the program to back up your registry before you run the registry fixes.

Should restore your connectivity.

I cant open any virus scan program and cant open system restore

Hi,
I strongly suggest that you remove Zone Alarm from your computer before you start to install any other virus scan program as its presence prevent other programs to work when you try to install them. For sure I know about it!!!!, make your choice about a good virus program first and stick to it...and install only one, otherwise you are just asking for problems.

To remove Zone alarm completely you have to start you computer in 'Safe Mode' and then go to Add/Remove programs in the Control Panel section to proceed and then reboot.

Thanks,

Averatec 6100 series closes all programs before i can open them

Try tapping either F5 or F8 (can never remember which) as soon as anything shows on the screen on boot. One of these will bring up a short menu with your available choices for boot.

AVEO Camera STI

I had the same problem and by accident I solved it by pressing a button. Up by my power button there is a group of 4 buttons the first one is i assume for e-mail the next is for internet i think the third is to start my wireless internet and the last one has a P1 above it thats the one that fixed the prob. for me. When i pressed it a pic. of a cam poped up briefly. It was so fast i had to try it again when i did a pic. of a cam with a line through it popped up so I knew I must have stumbled uppon turning it on and off. but now I have a new prob. When i start the cam it runs briefly then stops with a message that there was a prob. and windows searches for a solution and shuts the program down. It says they will notify me of a solution if there is one but i dont know how they can do that without any of my contact info. Anyways I hope this helps you out if you come across a solution to my new prob. please shoot me a e-mail my adress is jaywolfman72@yahoo.com thanks and good luck.

NEED HELP!!! Rhapsody Software Download Problem

Okay...MacAffee is causing problems with your connection and with the download/update. You will need to right click on the MacAffee icon in the system tray (bottom right of the screen) and open the program to turn it off (or just quit the program). Also make sure your firewall is down when doing this.

Re-install BBDMS (aka Rhapsody), and allow the update to happen. Once this is complete (assuming that MacAffee is the only anti-virus software running) launch the program, connect your MP3 player, and "authorize" the player on your computer.

This should take care of the problem.

I would also recomend a different anti-virus and firewall program. AVG isn't as invasive, and PCTools firewall will allow you to configure what programs are allowed to use the internet.
