Most failure in LCD monitors are due to bad caps as you can see in my albums of failed monitor. What did the shop tell you what tehy find inside? If it is caps, that is very cheap to repair.

Can I get this monitor to recognize 800X600 resolution? I keep getting input not supported.

This monitor can handle up to native resolution of 1280 x 1024 @60Hz. You may want to look at your owner manual unless there is problem inside the monitor.

Turns on, no video.

How do you know it's recognizing the input? Black screen on a CRT monitor usually mean the horizontal output circuitry has failed impeding the flyback from producing high voltage. If this monitor is really important to you most reputable repair people still repair them. However, it may be overall cheaper in the long run to dump it and get an LCD monitor.

Look up the BenQ website. http://www.benq.com/support/
These monitors have a 3 year warranty in most cases.

Failing that cantact BenQ directly with the phone numbers on that same site.

Computer not recognizing moniter

Resolution set too high for display.

Attach TUBE monitor, Start Windows, change resolution to 1024x768 (MAX) and then hit APPLY/OK.

Also check refresh rate, it is listed in hertz (hz) in advanced settings. Should be 70-72khz not faster than either.

Shut down PC, Connect LCD, you should have a decent picture.
