"no controllers" message in N64

Hello!

it's been a long time since I haven't use my N64. I tried to play with the console in this days, everything seems to be right: audio, video.. BUT
there's an strange problem with the controllers:

the only game i have is Donkey Kong 64, but every time the game is beginning the controllers are not detected.. so I just can't play, could it be a problema of the game or a problem of the console?

may somebody help me?

sorry for my bad english :)

Its a problem with the controller, try a different controller, the wire might be chewed up a little

How to stop the N64 from automatically turning itself off

Well if the console had blanked out on you and the red light is still on getting power. THis has happened to me half way through perfect dark while I was playing it froze and then the screen went black and then it went to the tv screen saying no siginal it means that the expansion pack has died on you then. So i tried a new expansionpack for my 12 year old N64 console at that time and it worked again. It could just be a easy problem then.
5 STARS UIF THIS SOLUTION WAS HELPFUL.

I say your N64 is obsolete at this point. May I suggest playing N64 games on your PC. A rom is a game that is 'ripped' from a game cartridge or cd of a game console (usually a console generation earlier than the second latest.) An emulator is what you run the rom in. The emulator is what allows you to use your mouse, keyboard, etc. to play the game.
http://coolrom.com/ is a great source for roms. You can get roms for the N64, GBA, GBA, GB, GameCube, Nintendo DS and even some sega games! You search for your game, find it in the list of search results and download the game.

N64 red light

Try blowing out the Game slot on the console, and then blow out the large metal prong on the bottom of the game. Also try waiting a little bit, your nintendo might need to cool down.
After a long time n64 games fail to start up on most attempts, so keep trying, it will start up eventually.

N64 will not play on new TV and Stereo Reciever

maybe it's just the T.V I mean the N64 is like 10+ years old and you're trying to get it to work in a new T.V! I reckon that your best bet is to buy an older T.V to play it with or get an emulator e.g PJ64 on your computer and then you can still play your games

My n64 wont work

Well I am currently having a similar problem with my aqua N64 console and my black N64 console. So it could be the ac adapter that could be the issue because Im having the same problem sort of with my SNES console so I brought a new ac adapter for my SNES and it works. It could be the same issue with my N64 consoles every thing looks fine on the inside so it has to be the ac adapter then. Or it might of had died on you. Video games consoles are funny at this they are fine the day before and they are not working the next day.

Can't find the channel for my N64

Is your cable RCA, S-Video, or Coaxial? If it's coaxial, check and see if the channel is to 3 or 4. If it's RCA or S-Video, check which slot it's plugged into on your TV. Most likely, the cable's dead, as I've had to replace mine a good 4 times.

Nintedo 64

Considering how shortprint it was and it's popularity, you best shot is on e-Bay. Most N64 owner's aren't really willing to part with CBFD, so it might be pricey.
