I can't get the window screen to pop up that allows you to download the pictures. It says I need to download the new file, when I try to download that it says I cant download that file until the party pack file is downloaded. Although, you cant download the party pack file without the first file download?

Sounds like your software no longer recognizes the device is plugged in. I would open the software program that you are using with the camera plugged in and try to find the upload/connect to camera command. You should be able to start the download from there. Hope this helps!

You don't need any special software. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

You can't. This is a one-way street...from camera to computer...not the other way around. Now you need to format the card in the camera to get it to work properly.
