Hi Kroboken,
I suggest you check the connection cords first before doing anything drastic.
Oftentimes it may appear to be plugged-in tightly but you may still need to wiggle it a bit to make the connectors seat properly.
If you have been previously using an HDMI TV with this console and now trying to hook it up to a regular composite connection TV - or vice versa, you may need to reset your Video settings. You do this by holding the power button for at least 6 seconds (the unit should be turned-off when you do this). You should hear the two beeps. After doing this reset, you will now be able to choose the correct settings for your console.
Go to your settings and select the correct resolution. 720p is the default resolution that works for most most standard definition TV's.
You also need to make sure that your settings match the type of cable connectors that you are using. You are gonna have problems if your console thinks that you are using an HDMI/ DMI cable but in actuality you are using a standard AV cord- and vice versa.
I hope this fixes the problem.
All the best to you.
