It's not necessarily a defect in your specific player - double check the latest firmware on Creative's website to see if it fixes any known issues with the FM radio. If not, you can try exchanging it at the store, but you may have the exact same problem with the next player. Also, try tuning outside or in a different area, and see if you get better reception.

How to add an iPod Input into a Stock Radio?

You can add an iPod to a stock radio in your car, even if the plant does not have an auxiliary input or iPod input using a specific number of iPod car accessories. One such accessory is a cassette adapter that plugs into your iPod as a headset, but ends on a cassette tape to your stock cassette radio. However, not all cars have cassette players, thus more accessible to the FM transmitter.

1. Connect your iPod to an FM transmitter, if you connect headphones to the iPod.

2. Connect the FM transmitter to your cigarette lighter to power and then to the transmitter.

3. Press up and down on the transmitter to the FM transmitter to change, you will pass the signal to your radio. Choose a station that is not a radio station on it so you do not interrupt the signal.

4. Set your stock radio to the channel you selected on your transmitter and then play the songs on your iPod. You will see the songs on your iPod through the radio station you selected.
The radio component will not work. All I hear is static on any station.

make sure you are on fm not am, and make sure you are in a place with good reception. maybe try new earphones or while you have the radio on try moving the earphones and the player around.

Can't figure out what channel to put radio on to get sound for dvd in car

The only way to hear it through the car radio is if it has a built in fm modulator installed.

Usually the car manufacturers use the lowest (or close to it) number on the dial. 88.7...88.9 etc.

On some factory installed units - you must press SOURCE for the DVD sound.

If it is aftermarket - an FM transmitter is almos alwyays part of the unit - and you'll have to find the proper channel.

Stick in a music CD, and then scan the stations manually.

Some FM Modulators use only 4 selectable channels... and some can use any channel.

Sansa clip - not able to playlist listen on car radio w/ adapter

1) Go into the settings menu, go to FM settings, and make sure the FM Region is set for United States. If you are outside the US, change it to "World"
2) The radio might initially be set for Pause - to test this, turn to a specific radio station that you know you get, and press up on the clickwheel. The "block" icon underneath the radio station should now change to a play arrow, if indeed it was on pause.

The service may not be available in your area. Make sure the headphones are connected to the player when searching for radio stations: Here's pg 15 of the user manual:

FM Radio (if applicable)
The Sansa

stations. Please note that the FM Radio function may not be available in your region.
Listening to FM Radio
To listen to live broadcast FM station, follow these steps:
1. Select FM Radio from the Main Menu.
2. A radio frequency menu will appear.
3. Press |<< or >>| to adjust and search for the desired frequency, or select
preset by pressing Select.
4. For fast search, press and hold the |<< or >>| buttons.
