Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P52 Digital Camera
Hey I am having the same shutter problem and I have tried your solution over 50 times and it is not working. Can you please shed some light I am obviously doing something wrong.
When I power the camera on I can hear the motor but the shutters do not open open and I get a mesage to reboot the camera. PLEASE HELP!!!!
I have investigated my problem further and basically the teeth on the black cog which opens the lens cover have broken. This a very small component which attaches to the motor, so when you hear the motor, or if you have had grinding noises, it is the mechanism trying to operate the shutter but cannot beacuse the teath won't engage. If you have this probelm all the turning on and off again wont solve the issue. You might be lucky if only one of the teeth have broken but you are only postponing the inevitable which will happen when you least want it to. I have aChristening at the weekend and only hope I can get this sorted by then.
I will need a new shutter mechanism ( don't know the technical terms) but as yet I have to investigate where I can get one. Any suggestions anyone??
