WASHING MACHINE TAKES A LONG TIME TO DO A LOAD

Posted by on

  • wheelo1963 Jun 28, 2008

Washing machine takes up 2 hours to do a load, I noticed not much water getting into machine. I have pulled the hoses off and cleaned the filters in both the hot and cold water fittings (cold was full of rust flakes). After connecting the hoses and starting the machine again still the same problem. I have pulled out the solanoids but have no idea how to test them to see if they are working correctly. Any ideas???????

Check the water flow from the hoses. if that checks out thenyou may need to replace the water valve; it is inexpensive and it seems that you already know how to take it off and on.

I used aml 85 ariston washing machine but it takes time to wash it takes 2 and a half hour to finished.how can i make quick washed for this.i want like 1 hour wash only

Select a quick wash cycle which will take in less time to load water , rinse and spin, Also choose with a smaller load. check the INLET water pressure to be good, check the drain to be effective, if not clean both the valves..

Hi,
The newer washers are much more gentle on your clothing, but they also take their time to do the job...
Yes, it can be a pain to have it take so long but your clothing will love you for it and will stay nice for you longer...you will also be using less water...

Not much you can do about it as the engineers that know all are the ones that program these things...

Water fills slowing in washing machine, kenmore ultra fabric care

Check the water inlet valve. If there is a problem it can cause a slow fill condition. Unplug the machine, turn off the water and remove the water supply hoses. Check the small metal screens inside the openings on the valve. Make sure they are clear of rust or debris. The solenoids can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter. A lack of continuity means a bad solenoid and the valve assy will need replaced. I will attach a photo for reference. Hope this helped and best wishes.

How can I reduce the time needed for a wash ? It takes 2 hours is there any way to make it less ?

Most machines have a soil level selection (light / normal / heavy) and if you select light soil level the wash time is reduced. Also, some machines have a " Quick Cycle " which cuts a lot of time off, which should only be used with lightly soiled clothing. Additionally, make sure you have adequate water pressure, and that the inlet screens are clear so that the cycle is not delayed essesivly due to slow water fill. Regardless of all these, the higher spin speeds of a front loading machine (those have the longest wash times, due to the low water use and the tumbling wash action used vs an agitator in a top load machine) will result in reduced dryer run time, thus helping to reduce the overall time a load takes to wash and dry. (although still longer than most top loading sets) Generally, the energy savings and larger load sizes will outweigh the extra time the machines take.

1 1/2 PER LOAD

This is joyce
It is according to what cycle you have it set on and what kind of detergent you are using. if you use something other than HE detergent you may have a very long cycle, its trying to get all the suds out of your clothes, and yes the cycles do range that high.
