I have the same problem. I have the earphones all the way in and the player is playing but I still hear nothing. Is there a secret mute button or something?

Make sure that the headphone plug is plugged in as far as possible. There's an issue of it seeming like it's connected, but it still needs to be pushed in a little more for a full connection.

Have my earphones on but can not hear music

You could try using your earphones with another device to see if they are working properly. For example, I think my earphones have a broken wire in them because when the earphone plug revolves up or down in the jack the sound cuts out. When I turn the plug around a little, the sound comes back. (I am sure you had the volume turned up :)

How to connect peavey mixer to tascam 2488neo

you can get an adapter to go from the earphone jack of your MP3 platers earphone jack to any
equipment with standard line in, check Radioshack. Once you plug it in set the volume low then
adjust it up to a suitable level. Earphone jacks can overload the signal and possibly damage equipment if the volume is too high. I would avoid using phono line in it uses an even lower voltage. You can use the phono line in just be very careful about volume settings and you'll probably get some noise.

Ipod shuffle wont play

If iPod shuffle isn’t playing music
â iPod shuffle might not have any music on it. If you hear the message “Please use
iTunes to sync music,” connect iPod shuffle to your computer to sync music to it.
â Slide the three-way switch off and then on again.
â Make sure the earphone or headphone connector is pushed in all the way.
â Make sure the volume is adjusted properly. A volume limit might be set. See “Setting
a Volume Limit” on page 25.
â iPod shuffle might be paused. Try clicking the Center button on the earphone remote

Sound Problem

Sounds like something's up with your EQ. From the main menu, go to Music>Music Options>Music EQ and try another setting or play around with Custom. Could also be volume. Go to main menu>Settings>Reset All (NOT FORMAT!!!) Recommend trying both in given order. Hope this helps.

My ipod crackles and my hearing seems to be getting damaged

Id say you should go see a doctor. But for now id say that you should do your best to not listen to it for a while as it can affect hearing. try to use full on speakers if you can. On you tube there are a few Sub-Woofer sound tests you can do. Try playing one (low volume) and repeat. (not a song one)

http://www.teenbuzz.org/ also to hear which frequencies are out of range to you click here. ( click the second icon on the list further down the page)

But yeah go see a doctor. Perhaps some ear drops.

No sound

Reset the player - double check the sound settings in the menu
if these methods fail, run the recovery method mentioned in the user's manual
if the recovery even fails, then it is a hardware issue with the headphone jacks and the player will have to be replaced
