Bake Element

I would start by checking the temp sensor of the bake temp settings. Pull it and its most likely bad your thermostat control, also did you ohm out the element before installing it i have bought many new bad ones as well. anything else just ask.

The fan wont work car does not get hot shut off

cooling fan works on a temp sensor in the engine block. it only turns on when the temp reaches a set limit and shuts off when it gets below a set limit.. cooling fan components are , fans, fan relay , and temp sensor . best way to test the fans would be to let the car set running and watch the temp till it goes up to 185 -195 deg. at this time the fans should turn on and the thermostat should open and cool the engine back down. also when ever the air conditioning is on so should the cooling fans be on. if the fans do not run the check all components till you find the broken one. fan relay and air conditioning relay are separate but work the same. and will interchange

I have a 95 Gran AM GT with 3.1 auto. The motor will run until it gets overheated and boils over, but the fan will not start.I have totally flushed the system, pulled and inspected the water pump, changed...

Fan operates when coolant temp reaches 226 deg.F and shuts off at 219eg.F
fan is controlled by the PCM infuts from Eng. coolent temp. sensor & Intake air temp. sensor
the yellow wire is the 5V reference and the black wire the is the PCM ground sensor
make sure your not using teflon tape on the threads of the temp sensor.
it sounds like the PCM wont turn it on. check the harness for continuity between temp. sensor and PCM harness
clear connecter - pin 17 black, pin 31 yellow

Three possible solutions:

1. Bad Thermostat

2. Fan Relay (most likely)

3. Bad Fan

When the GC reaches a temp of 180 Deg. F the fan relay sends a signal to the fan to turn on, once the temp lowers (around 155 Deg. F) the relay turns off the fan, and so the cycle continues. If the relay is bad there will be no signal to the fan to run. While you are driving your vehicle there is ambient air moving thru the radiator, cooling the engine, but once you encounter slow/heavy traffic or stop there is no air moving and the temp goes up, the fan will not kick in and the vehicle will overheat.

If the fan motor is not working the same will happen, but a more expensive fix, as the motor comes with the fan.

If the Thermostat is stuck in the open position, the water travels to fast in the engine and heat exchanging is not an efficient process, therefore the vehicle might overheat when stopped or in slow traffic.

Range will not hold a consistent temperature

Good chance your bake element is out. Could be the element or a terminal burned off.
When you set to bake, normally it preheats which uses the bake and broil element.
When it reaches "near" temp, the broil goes off and the bake takes over.
If the bake element, (the one in the bottom), is not working, the temp will decline.

Check:
Turn to 450 deg.
Watch the elements, assuming you have a door with a glass, and see if both elements, top and bottom, glow red.

2000 jeep radiator fan

Hi micro0711, the fan (which I assume is electric) works off of 3 corresponding pieces of equipment: the rad,the thermostat and the coolant temp sensor so if you have a 180 deg thermostat the coolant would circulate through the engine and generate heat once the coolant temp reaches approx 180 deg the thermostat opens the coolant temp sensor signals the fan to engage removing the heat from the radiator cooling surface maintaining a safe operating temp. If you find your temp is rising check to be certain there is power to the fan and also that the thermostsat is operating, hope this helps good luck

WHAT WAS HAPPENING AT 1ST YOUR HI-LIMIT TERMAL SAFETY OR OVEN TEMP SENSOR FELT THAT THE OVEN WAS GET TOO HOT AND SEIZING OPERATION UNTIL SAFE TEMP WERE OBTAINED THIS IS GENERALLY A FAULTY OVEN TEMP SENSOR. I WOULD ADVISE YOU TO CONTACT A CERTIFIED TECH TO LOOK AT IT AND P.S. DON'T MENTION THAT YOU TOOK THE MACHINE APART MOST SERVICE COMPANIES WILL NOT SERVICE THE MACHINE IF IT BEEN TAMPER WITH BY THE CUSTOMER DUE TO INSURANCE AND LIABILITIES
