Rancilio Epoca DE 2 group espresso machine

Hi I have the above espresso machine but just lately have noticed that the front panel lights that normally "cycle" as the machine is heating and getting up to pressure, gou out very early. The mahine then cuts out (That is the boiler stops heating) at really lo pressures ie 0.5 to 0,75 bar. If you then switch the machine on and off again a few times you can trick it into getting up to pressure but as soon as you then use the machine the pressure falls rapidly. Do you have any ideas I recently had numerous parts replaced by a professional and it cost over $600 I hope you can help
Thanks Ziggy

Hi Thanks for your reply. Yes the repairs were carried out by an authorised service agent. The problem at the time was somewhat different though and resulted in a replacement pump and two new flow meters as well as pressure and other adjustments. I have looked at the wiring diagram and located the bi-metal temp switch and when the machine cuts out too early checking that with a meter shows the cicuit to be closed. This should then discount the switch from the problem. Do you know how to adjust the temp and pressure though? Maybe I should just take it back to the agent. Is there diagnostic software available for checking the microprocessor. Looking at it one of the green l.e.d.s. does not light up, but then i don't know when it should?

The problem is building up of pressure is not successful.

then the pressure valve that detects the pressure inside and turns off the boiler is faulty.

you will have to look at the section where the pressure is developed.

but this is a clear internal fault. and there is nothing we can do about resets.

Seems to be a problem with either the elctronics sensors, or the "brain" itself. Did you get the machine serviced by an authorised service center, or a local repair guy?

The only thing that comes to mind is the metering jet on the group as well as the reducers on the tubes bringing water into the group.

New rancilio epoca s tank I turn on the switch 1, the boiler is filled and is activated. ok once the boiler is filled i turn resistance switch 2 ...but it doesnt work.

It should take about a 1/2 hour to warm up, are any lights flashing? Is the light on the second switch green? If not you might want to take off the left panel and find the thermal reset. Its mounted to the top side and has a little red button facing you. Press that to reset the unit.
Goodluck!

Hi! I have a Rancilio epoca DE 2 group machine and the antivacuum valve spurts water as the machine is heating up. ow can I fix this? Please advise

Your boiler is flooding because the water level probe is not behaving properly. The machine thinks it needs water.

My rancilio epoca s1 won't start.

HI
Without being in front of it, there are a couple of things to check.
1. There is a reset button on top of the boiler. It is a black top with a red button in the center between 2 wires.
2. The water tank needs to be emptied and then refilled. That is the first things I would check.

Rancilio epoca - heating element continue to stick on

It's the thermostat for certain.

Te release valve is put there it be sure the tank pressure doesn't get too high such as to cause a steam explosion/rupture of the tank.

Rancilio Epoca DE 2 group espresso machine

It could also be that the solenoid is of the wrong specifications, and hence not getting up to pressure.. Have them check both the temp and pressure cutouts again..
