Question about Kenmore Elite 22.4 cu. ft. Bottom Freezer Refrigerator with Adjusta Cube Ice Maker

1 Answer

I have a Kenmore model 106 9555710 SxS - no wate through door

My kenmore has stopped dispencing water from the door. The ice maker still works. For a while the first time you used the water it would take a few seconds to start dispencing. However, now it never starts. I hear the click of the switch when the lever is pressed and you can hear a low hum while the lever is pressed.

Check inside the bottom of the refrigerator for water, the water line goes thru the back of the refrigerator and it may have cracked and leaking inside instead of going to the dispenser.
if not then water is most likely frozen in the line going thru the back of the refrigerator. look behind the pans in the refrigerator and there should be a coil of clear plastic water line, this is the reservoir that chills the water for the dispenser. sometimes it will freeze up if the refrigerator is very cold.

Make sure the metal lever on the ice maker is in the lower on position. Check that the water valve for the 1/4 inch supply line is attached to the fridge and to the valve . Screw that water valve all the way in and then all the way out.

Your water valve probably has a drip like a bad water faucet. The water valve is cheapest and your only 2 parts options are the ice maker AND the water valve.

Kenmore 56541 side by side icemaker nor making ice The in door water dispencer works Arm on tray is on no water getting to tray

1.Bad water valve located in the back bottom of refrigerator.
2. Frozen fill tube going into back of ice maker. (common problem)
3. Ice maker not cycling. Pour water into ice maker cavity until near filled.
Wait a few hours and see if it dumps.
4.In rare cases, the switch in the ice maker body fails. Ice maker will cycle but not tell water valve to refill.

Kenmore by Whirlpool sxs water in the door. Ice maker 106.565424

The water control valve for the ice maker side is your most likely reason. If filling ice maker with tap water and allowing to freeze. If it dumps then the water control should fill. if not the valve is not working. Sea Breeze

Kenmore Galaxy Ice Maker Not Making Ice

Sounds like you have a bad water valve. It will have a dual water valve on the back where the water connects to the unit. You can take the wire plugs and swap them around. Then push the water in the door leaver. hold it for around 4 sec. Then see if the ice tray has water in it. If it does, you have a bad valve. If not you ice make is bad, turned off or the freezer is not cold enough to operate. ( It has to be 5degrees or lower before the ice maker will try to operate)
Please rate this solution if it helps. Thanks

Kenmore side by side water dispenser has stopped

Most likely need to replace the water inlet valve. The water supply line should be directly connected to it. There are 2 valves bracketed together, 1 for the ice maker and 1 for the water dispencer. You will probably have to buy both valves, but want to do this anyway as the second valve will fail soon. Hope this helps.
