Not sure what you mean by back to zero. If you want to restore it to its factory default condition, then do the following which will not only clear all user data but remove any malware or viruses. The Acer Aspire 4720 Notebook has a hidden partition containing files to restore the system to its factory default. On powering up, press the Alt key and the F10 key together (at the same time) repeatedly and after a minute or so, Acer eRecovery Management should start up. Follow the on-screen directions to do a restore of the system to its factory default. The restoration process will reformat the partition that is the C: drive. After restore has completed, Acer eRecovery Management can be used to create a set of disks for a full back up of your system's factory default image.

How to Restore Acer Aspire 5100 to Factory Setting
Instructions 1 Open the "Start" menu, then click "All Programs" and place your mouse cursor over the folder labeled "Acer Empowering Technology." Select the "Acer Empowering Technology" icon from the folder.
2 Click the "Acer eRecovery Management" icon that is now on your desktop.
3 Click "Restore" at the bottom of the "Acer eRecovery Management" window.
4 Select "Restore system to factory default" from the "Restore" menu. The computer will restart and automatically begin the restoration process.

Restore and recovery
The restore and recovery features allow you to restore or recover the system
from a factory default image, from a user created image, or from previously
created CD and DVD backups. You can also reinstall applications and drivers for
your Acer system.
1 Press <Alt> + <F10> or select Acer eRecovery Management from the
Empowering Technology toolbar to start Acer eRecovery Management.
2 Switch to the restore and recovery page by selecting the Restore button.
3 Select the backup point you would like to restore from. You can also
choose to recover the system from a factory default image, recover from a
previously created CD/DVD or reinstall applications and drivers.
4 Follow the instructions on screen to complete the process
1. Power on the machine 2. At the white ACER BIOS screen, hold the “Alt” key and press the “F10” key simultaneously to start Acer eRecovery 3. Once eRecovery has loaded, click “Restore to Factory Default Settings” 4. Click “OK” to continue 5. From here, the eRecovery process will update all the data on the C: drive and restore a fully functional factory image (approximately 10 minutes). 6. Once eRecovery has run, press “OK” to reboot unit
If windows is running you can start it by going to Programs, Acer Empowering Technology and run the Acer eRecovery Management. Note that on the bottom of the eRecovery Management window are 3 choices, Backup, Burn Disk and Restore. Click on Restore. Here you have the choice of select Restore System to Factory Default.
If windows is not working but the system boots -
Reboot the system and when the Acer logo appears, hold down the ALT key and press F10. This starts the recovery process, just follow the instructions.
