Rest my 2007 compac presaro f500 notebook to factory settings its asking fpr a eight digit factory password?

While it is always best to exhaust all other options before taking such a drastic step, sometimes the only course of action available is to restore your computer to its original factory condition.
If you have a Compaq Presario F500 with a damaged operating system or extensive damage from a virus or other malware, you may have no choice but to run the restore process and bring the unit back to its original factory state.

Place the restore CD into your F500 and shut down the unit.
Power the unit back up with the CD in the drive.
The F500 automatically boots from the CD and starts the restore process.
Verify that you wish to restore the F500 to its original factory settings.
The restoration process requires your verification, since it formats the hard drive and destroys the data.
You will need to verify that you want the hard drive to be formatted.

Insert the operating system CD when prompted.
Enter the license key for the operating system when prompted.
This license key information can be found on a small tag located on the laptop itself, often on the bottom of the machine.

Reboot the F500 when the restoration process is complete.
Copy any backup files to the F500, and then connect to the Internet and download any new updates from the Windows Update site.
This process can take awhile, so it is best to install the updates when you have a large block of time available.
You should, however, download them as soon as possible to protect your computer.

It has the options to copy the key to clipboard, save it to a text file, or print it for safekeeping.
Serial keys Location
Lift up your computer and look for a tag.
The tag will probably be located on the side of the computer, or on the bottom of the unit for a laptop.
The service tag is generally a large black and white tag and it will say "Service Tag Number."
Do not confuse this tag with the Windows tag, which may be located in the same area on the computer.

My Mcafee antivirus is not working and system has found errors. Also, Internet explorer is not opening. It has showing syntax errors and asking for sending reports. kindly suggest what to do?

This problem actually arises when some of your System Files get corrupted. Getting back your original setup is almost impossible. You have told that your antivirus is not working, so there is a very strong possibility that your system has got corrupted by the virus infection. Firstly, I recommend you to scan your system with a well-established antivirus.....likely AVG Antivirus (if you are using Pirated Windows Copy) or Microsoft Security Essentials (if you are using Original Windows Copy). If this antivirus shows viruses and you are unable to get back your original system files, then go for Windows Update (for Original Windows) and your files be restored. If this one also does not help you, then go for the System Restore option. This can help you to restore your files to a better condition. You can find System Restore in the All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore option. Let's hope that this will serve you well.

How do I reformat my acer aspire m1610 to original factory condition. There is no reformat disk please help

Some computers have a hidden recovery partition when they are set up. When the computer starts to boot up, at the acer splash screen pressing the alt and F10 keys should bring up the Factory Restore screen.

As long as the hidden partition hasn't been removed/deleted this should do it for you

How can i restore the laptop to its original shop bought condition

Hi

Itwillbe one of two ways depending on the manufacturere

1) If when you bought the laptop you were given resotration CD's then it is a case of putting the CD in and then restarting the PC and following the on screen instructions

2) Other laptop brands have the recovery on the hard drive, in this case depending on the brand you will find it under

Start> My programs> Brand name

And this folder there will be something called system reformat, factory setting etc

Please leave feedback/vote if my answer was helpful

Bought used and want to restore to new condition so I can make it all mine

You should check the "my computer" window to view the avaible hard drives. You may have a hard drive partition call restore or something close to that. If you do, then restart you computer and look for an F key number to press for restore. This will allow you to restore the computer back to an Out of the Box state.
