Where To Insert Card

I know where to remove the little photo card from my Nikon Coolpix 5600 but I don't know where to "put it" to retrieve my pictures. I have a Dell XPS 200 Computer with an EPSON Photo R340 Printer.

You just need a card reader that will be connected to your computer via USB.
A memory card reader is a device used for communication with a smart card or a flash memory card. A business card reader is a scanning device used to scan and electronically save business cards. A magnetic card reader is a device used to scan cards containing magnetic data strips. A punched card reader is a device used to read holes in punched cardboard cards.

Hope that helps..........

If your computer does not have a slot for the memory card built in, then there should be an adapter that is available for the card, that will plug into the usb of the computer

Does your EPSON Photo R340 printer have the slot for the memory card? And, does your camera have a usb cord to plug in directly? you don't always have to take the memory card out to access the pictures.

One more thing... If you do have a usb cord for your camera, be sure your camera is turned on before plugging it into the computer

My nikon coolpix 5600 camera taking a photograph after that taking long time for ready to next photo. why?

You might be using a slow SD card and your camera is buffering the data waiting for the slow speed card to catch up. Try a faster memory card. I would suggest an SDSC card. They have a much faster write speed.

PNY memory card doesn't work in my nikon coolpix 5600 camera

TWhat type and size memory card are you trying to use? The 5600 works with SD cards, 2GB or smaller. It will not work with higher-capacity SDHC cards.

To format an SD card, see page 97 of the manual: http://www.fixya.com/support/p423-nikon_coolpix_5600_digital_camera/usermanual-0FF7E2C-pdf

I need to find a download to help me retrieve my pictures from my camera Nikon Coolpix L310

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

Nikon transfer is not showing that my camera is connected

There is an alternate way of downloading images from the memory card from the camera.
Get a USB memory card reader, remove the memory card from the camera, insert it into the card reader, then plug the card reader into the USB port of your computer. You will now see card reader as an external memory device, open the folder and copy your photos onto your hard drive.

Put the card in your PC Card-reader for SD-cards (everybody has it nowadays - they're pretty cheap, get it if you ain't got it yet) and use any of the recovery programs available (lots of freeware on the web) for recovering your files.

Nikon Coolpix 4600: Problem: It won't take any photos, it reads: THIS CARD CANNOT BE USED. The card is 128 MB. I purchased a new card: 2GB but it won't work also. My manual says to clean the contacts...

1) Have you formatted the cards?

2) Try the cards in the card reader in your computer to see if they can be read.

3) Try the "switch off camera - remove and replace battery - switch on camera" trick with the original 128 Mb card in place. This will reset the camera's memory.

4) Note the type of card is important - not all cards can be used in a camera (especially some of the latest bigger ones) - check the type of cards supported by your camera.

I found this at the Nikon USA site (note that the 2 GB card is not listed - as said "Cards are not all the same" and use different drivers to operate them):

Question Which Secure Digital Cards are approved for use in the Coolpix 4600/5600? trnsp.gif Answer The Nikon Quality Department has tested the following cards and approved their use in the Coolpix 4600/5600:

SD memory cards:
SanDisk 16 MB, 32 MB, 64 MB, 128 MB, 256 MB, 256 MB*, 512 MB, 512MB*, 1 GB
Panasonic 16 MB, 32 MB, 64 MB, 128 MB, 256 MB*, 512 MB*,1 GB
Toshiba 16 MB, 32 MB, 64 MB, 128 MB, 128 MB*, 256 MB, 256 MB*, 512 MB

*High speed type of 10 MB/s or over

Other brands and capacities of cards may work, but Nikon cannot guarantee their operation. Check with the manufacturer of the third-
party card for compatibility information. Nikon recommends keeping one of the approved cards available for troubleshooting.
