Black marks on display screen

I have two snowflake-shaped shapes which have appeared on the display screen. Does anyone know how to remove them. They do not affect the pictures but boy are they annoying.

That means that your LCD panel has been damaged. The only fix is to replace the screen (which is a hard and expensive job), if you can live with it then leave it alone..

Hello Zeidy, This is BAD NEWS no matter how you look at it, the repairs will exceed the price of a new camera.

Strange symbol on display screen left hand side coloum. Dark grey shaped like a chip in a windscreen, or a tiny firework type shape. Is this telling me i need to get it fixed?

It is in fact a tiny firework. You have the camera set for "fireworks" mode.. There should be a setting in the menu where you find different "scenes" where you can change it back to Daytime or some other standard setting .

Leaf shaped image on screen that I can't remove.

That's the icon for "macro" or close-up photos. There should be a button with a picture of the leaf or a mountain on the back of the camera. You didn't say what model camera you have.

Without warning the screen has produced images

Geoff, From what you tell me, it seem that either the LCD is going, if not gone yet, or the display IC is going. Replacing the LCD is possible, but rectifying an IC is beyond economic repairs. So hope it is the former. And do visit take the camera to the service centre.

Black blob appears on display screen and the background is white

This usually means that the liquid crystal has been broken in that section. Usually caused by something poking or pressing on that section of the screen. The only solution is to have it repaired or replace the camera. I'd get an estimate from an authorized repair shop or Samsung directly, and then weigh the options against buying a new camera, buying a working used one, or paying for the repair.

Black leaf shaped design on lcd

Check and see if the camera still takes good pictures. Verify this by downloading them to your PC. If they look ok, most likely the problem is a defective LCD display.

The V603(6Mb), V803(8Mb) & V1003(10Mb) all use the same LCD display and these cameras have a k**wn problem with the display being delicate and easy to break. This camera should always be stored in a hard shell case. There is ** protective lens over the LCD display.

Sending the camera to Kodak is a gamble. If they they say its your fault, they won't pay and then they also have your camera, backing you into a corner. With LCD displays, they may say it had been dropped or abused. You have a better chance for them fixing it if the display is **t physically cracked.

Please read my article on this camera. You'll get a better sense of how much it really costs to fix it if you wanted to try and do it yourself. I've repaired several of these. It's **t hard to do.

Please let me k**w if I can be of further assistance to you.

Good luck!
