Pull the rewind knob upwards.

Manuals are available online for dwonload from the US Pentax website, under 'support'. (This keeps changing, so yo may have to hunt arounf the site a bit!)

In fact they have manuals for every model since the late 50's.

The free downloads are B&W low res,but you can order replacement manuals too. They might even have some ME-Super manuals left.

I recently bought a Minolta X-700 but I have found two problems with it. First, the manual film advance does not work. When I try to advance, it just freely moves to right when it should tug a little and...

Ah, the X700, I used one for years until it just got to the point where it was worn out. As you are aware these cameras are mostly in the 25 year old range and if they have not had proper tune ups and maintenance done it is likely that it has issues, and likely had them when it was sold to you. Your best bet would be to take it to a reputable camera repair shop and have them give you an estimate.

I have a Canon Eos T1i. I keep getting an Err 20 message. Ive tried turning the camera off, then on. Also, i removed the canon lense, battery, and disc and put it back in to no avail.

I have the same issue. I just bought the same camera and it seems its a lens/shutter issue from what I could find so far. I will keep searching and contact canon with this issue to get an answer from them.

Nikon F100 does not advance film to start of roll,

Jim, it really sounds like one of threethings. Either will require a repair shop.
1. the film sensor is not recognizing film in the film chamber, or film across the back, therefore not telling the advance motor to advance film...
2. The film advance motor itself needs replaced.
3. The rear door latch switch needs replaced.
Since everything else seems to do OK, I doubt the main computer board is bad.
